  • Publication number: 20240139020
Abstract: A reconfigurable sling assembly. The sling assembly is configured to attach to a separate belt assembly worn around a user's waist. The medial portions of the sling assembly can be selectively attached to the belt assembly. The sling assembly includes a strap for adjustably securing the user's upper arm in a position adjacent to the torso. The sling has a conventional loop arrangement for encircling and securing the lower arm. However, the loop arrangement can be placed in one of two states. In a closed state, the loop arrangement secures the lower arm against the belt assembly and inhibits any significant motion of the lower arm. However, in an open state of the loop arrangement, the lower arm is released from the sling and is free to move. In the open state the upper arm is preferably still restrained.

  • Publication number: 20240139015
Abstract: An abductor pillow assembly having an abductor pillow removably attached to a panel assembly. The panel assembly has a waist panel, a central web and a thigh panel connected as one integrated panel. The panel assembly also includes a waist strap configured to encircle a user's waist and a thigh strap configured to encircle a first leg (upper thigh) of a user. The abductor pillow includes a main body and an abductor strap. The abductor strap passes through a slot in the main body and attaches at either end to the panel assembly, securing the abductor pillow to the user.

  • Publication number: 20240008469
Abstract: A modular lower leg and hoof wrap configured to hold one or more therapeutic devices proximate an animal's hoof. The invention is intended primarily for use with horses. The components attach to a sole, which is intended to be positioned beneath the animal's hoof. One or more retention panels extend upward from the sole. A first wrap panel and a second wrap panel also extend upward form the sole. Elastic and VELCRO attachment features are preferably used so that each of the components may be positioned in a suitable location for a particular animal's anatomy. Other closure devices, such as buckles or snaps, could also be used.

  • Publication number: 20230342155
Abstract: A hip joint orthotic that can be used in stages. In the first stage the orthotic includes a stiff relatively brace assembly that can limit the amount of allowed flexion, extension, abduction, and adduction. In the second stage the relatively stiff brace can be removed and the orthotic can be used as a soft wrap. In both stages the orthotic is configured to easily mount and retain a thermal pack in a desired position or positions. In many instances the thermal pack will be a cold pack, but in some cases a hot pack may be used as well.

  • Publication number: 20230248081
Abstract: A modular brassiere that serves as both a modesty garment and an easily-donned support garment. The modular bra includes an elongated support band that is preferably made of elastic material. Hook-and-loop type of engaging panels are used to secure the band around the user's chest. A separate strap assembly may be added to transfer load to one or more of the user's shoulders. The support band includes a proximal end and a distal end. A pocket is preferably included, proximate the distal end. The user can place one or more fingers into this pocket to assist in donning the device. A grip panel is preferably included as well. The grip panel includes a strap loop which the user can employ to also assist in donning the device.

  • Patent number: 11707374
Abstract: A knee brace with an inflatable air bladder. In a post-surgical embodiment the brace includes a rigid shell that fits behind the knee. The rigid shell includes an inflatable air bladder on its posterior surface. A wrap is placed around the knee and the air bladder. When the air bladder is inflated, the knee is urged in the posterior direction—thereby decreasing flexion. In a rehabilitative embodiment, a rigid shell is placed over the anterior portion of the knee. An air bladder is positioned between the rigid shell and the knee. The rigid shell is held in place using the securing straps of the rehabilitative brace. When the air bladder is inflated the knee is again urged in the posterior direction.

  • Patent number: 11650017
Abstract: The present invention comprises a duplex thermal transfer pack. The pack includes a large bag containing many smaller sub bags. Each sub bag contains plain water. The volume within the large bag but outside the sub bags contains a second substance. This second substance freezes with a consistency akin to crushed ice or packed snow. The second substance allows the thermal transfer pack to remain malleable even when its contents are frozen.

Abstract: A user-customizable mask. The mask includes a centralized body configured to cover the user's nose, mouth, and chin. A left ear strap and a right ear strap are provided. The ear straps each contain a distal loop configured to pass around an ear—thereby securing the mask to the user's face. The mask body has a hook-compatible surface. Each ear strap includes a hook panel configured to engage this hook-compatible surface and thereby secure each ear strap to the mask body. The position of each of the ear straps relative to the mask body can be varied infinitely by the user in order to provide a customized fit.

  • Publication number: 20210121312
Abstract: An ankle-brace that incorporates an anti-rotation feature. The brace includes a conventional unified foot and ankle enclosure. One or more lateral straps are provided. Each of these straps is configured to be wrapped around the anterior side of the ankle, wrapped under the sole of the foot, and attached to the side of the ankle enclosure. The outward facing surface of the foot enclosure includes hook-compatible covering, at least across the region of the sole. Each lateral strap includes a hook panel positioned to engage the hook-compatible covering on the sole. This engagement prevents slippage between the lateral strap and the unified foot and ankle enclosure.
