Publication number: 20250142759Abstract: Devices, systems, and methods for managing chassis of data processing systems are disclosed. The chassis may be managed by reversibly attaching them to structural members such as rails. When so attached, the chassis may be fixedly held in a position. To facilitate access to an interior of the chassis, the chassis may be detached from the structural member and moved to a maintenance position. To detach the chassis from the structural member, the chassis may include a latch assembly. The latch assembly may include features to inform and remind technicians or other persons of the existence, or lack thereof, of various lines connecting the chassis, and components positioned in the chassis, to other components.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 27, 2023Publication date: May 1, 2025Inventors: PETER TIMOTHY CLARK, MATTHEW BRYAN GILBERT, RICHARD WILLIAM GUZMAN

The chassis may be managed by reversibly attaching them to structural members such as rails. When so attached, the chassis may be fixedly held in a position. To facilitate access to an interior of the chassis, the chassis may be detached from the structural member and moved to a maintenance position. To detach the chassis from the structural member, the chassis may include a latch. The latch may be positioned in an ear of the chassis and may be protected by a frame. The frame may include a recess, hole, or other feature to facilitate access to the latch. The access may allow application of force to a single portion of the latch to rotate or otherwise actuate the latch. Actuation of the latch may facilitate detachment of the chassis from the structural member.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 27, 2023Publication date: May 1, 2025Inventors: PETER TIMOTHY CLARK, MATTHEW BRYAN GILBERT, RICHARD WILLIAM GUZMAN, SEAN P. Publication number: 20250139306Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for providing computer implemented services are disclosed. To provide the computer implemented services, a data processing system may include various hardware components within an interior of a chassis. To secure the various hardware components, the data processing system may include a security system. The security system may include a security bezel and a sled for limiting movement of the chassis. To do so, the sled may reversibly attach to a rail on which the chassis is positioned and reversibly fixedly attach to the security bezel to a position on the chassis. By doing so, the security bezel may cover an opening through which access to the hardware components is provided. Additionally, by doing so, the security bezel may be positioned with the rail, thereby limiting the movement of the chassis.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 27, 2023Publication date: May 1, 2025Inventors: SEAN P. Patent number: 10863647Abstract: A mechanism for servicing a sled installed in a server includes a grip bar, and a four-bar linkage connected to the grip bar. The four-bar linkage has a first position that engages the sled to a chassis of the server, and a second position that disengages the sled from the chassis of the server. Movement of the grip bar moves the four-bar linkage from the first position to the second position, thus disengaging the sled from the chassis and allowing the sled to be removed from the chassis for service.Type: GrantFiled: September 13, 2019Date of Patent: December 8, 2020Assignee: Dell Products, L.P.Inventors: Eduardo Escamilla, Matthew Bryan Gilbert, Richard Andrew Crisp, Juan Manuel Gonzalez, Noman Mithani

Patent number: 9559908Abstract: A lockout prevention system includes a management Information Handling System (IHS) that is coupled through a network to network interface on a networking device. The networking device receives a configuration instruction through the network interface from the management IHS. The networking device then determines that the application of the configuration instruction will inhibit the communication between the management IHS and the networking device through the network interface. The networking device then provide a warning message for display on the management IHS in response to determining that the application of the configuration instruction will inhibit the communication between the management IHS and the networking device through the network interface.Type: GrantFiled: November 26, 2014Date of Patent: January 31, 2017Assignee: Dell Products L.P.Inventors: Deborah C. Publication number: 20110168862Abstract: A linear brace used to prevent the bowing and complete failure of a glass aquarium when the manufacturer's plastic, center brace fails. Through general steel fabrication techniques, the tubular, mild steel is cut to a specified length determined by the aquarium width. Both ends of the tubular steel are cut in 45 degree angles and smaller pieces of the tubular steel which protrude in a downward direction. A three eight's nut is welded to the bottom of the backside of the brace. A three eights bolt is threaded in the nut that was previous welded to the tube. After the bolt is threaded into the nut an additional nut is threaded onto the opposite end of the bolt and plug welded. This creates a adjustable mechanism to allow for easy installation. Then When the brace is in place on the aquarium, both downward tubes reside on the outside of the aquarium and are secured by adjusting the thread and nut mechanism.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 27, 2010Publication date: July 14, 2011Inventor: Bryan Gilbert DeRocher

Publication number: 20090119606Abstract: A system and method for seamlessly merging chats and email into one user interface is provided. The system and method of the present invention does not require that all users have access to the technology. Users of the technology can continue to communicate with others who may use email or their instant messaging system, although some of the minor features require that all users have the same technology. Terms used to describe the invention are “ChatMail” and “ChatThread”. ChatMail suggests the blend of chat and email while ChatThread suggests a blend of chat and an email “thread” which is a common semi-technical term that means a series of emails that share a common subject.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 5, 2007Publication date: May 7, 2009Inventor: Bryan Gilbert

Publication number: 20070168889Abstract: The present invention provides a method, system, and program product for indicating a state of a value of an application. Specifically, under the present invention a graphical state indicator is displayed for a property (e.g., background screen color) of an application. The graphical state indicator will indicate a “state” of a value of the property. That is, the graphical state indicator will indicate whether the value is a user-defined value, or is a default value. Under the present invention, a graphical state indicator can be provided for any property of the application. As such, multiple graphical state indicators may be simultaneously displayed. The present invention can also display a graphical value indicator for indicating the current value (e.g., blue) of the property (e.g., background screen color). This value can be changed based upon an interaction with the graphical value indicator by a user.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 19, 2006Publication date: July 19, 2007Applicant: INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATIONInventors: Casey Best, Brad Debroni, Eric Dunn, Michael Erickson, Bryan Gilbert, Gary Jipp, Michael Mansell, John Phillips
