Abstract: A guard for a table saw has a cover member positioned above a working surface and rotating blade of a table saw. The cover member provides a gap between a lower surface of the cover member and the working surface to permit a work piece to pass there through to be cut by the rotating blade. The guard has at least one support member for supporting the cover member above the working surface. The support member facilitates lateral movement of the cover member between a first position and a second working position. The lateral movement is generally parallel to the working surface. The cover member covers the rotating blade from above throughout the cutting operation.
