  • Patent number: 9282047
Abstract: Approaches for aggregating data prior to a transmission of the data to an external system are disclosed. The method includes receiving a data bag. The data bag including data packets destined to be transmitted to an external system. A timer even is then attached to the received data bag and the received data bag is temporarily stored in a data store. The timer event associated with the received data bag is then overridden based on the timer event associated with another data bag in the data store.

  • Patent number: 7933279
Abstract: A communications network arrangement provides voice over IP or voice over ATM services. The network arrangement comprises a first media gateway controller controlling a first gateway and provided with a first operating protocol, a second media gateway controller controlling a second gateway and provided with a second operating protocol, and a gateway address translator incorporating proxies for the first and second gateways. The gateway address translator provides a relay function for messaging between each media gateway controller and its corresponding gateway, and a virtual bearer function for messaging between the media gateway controllers. This facilitates inter-working between products supplied by different vendors.

  • Publication number: 20100196871
Abstract: An apparatus for culturing and/or transporting embryos, oocytes or other cellular structures, comprising a housing (12) having a gas space (28) and a media space (18) for a liquid medium separated from one another by a barrier (16) having one or more gas permeable regions to allow gas diffusion from the gas space to the media space, and an essentially gas-tight gas closure means (14) adapted to restrict the passage of gas into the container from the exterior environment, and liquid closure means (14, 16) adapted to engage with the housing to form a liquid-tight seal for retaining liquid in the media space. The barrier preferably comprises an at least partly gas-permeable insert (16) that when inserted into the housing forms together with the housing a gas space (28) and a liquid media space (18) in gas communication with one another via diffusion through the insert. The insert may be at least partly porous, the pores of the insert comprising at least part of the gas space.

  • Patent number: 7050861
Abstract: A caller associates computer software code with a signalling protocol messages such that when the messages are received at a destination processor the computer software code is executed. For example, the messages may be improved SIP protocol messages with incorporated Java code. By selecting different computer software code for association with the messages, the caller is able to control the destination terminal. For example, to display information about the identity of the caller at the destination terminal; to modify the behaviour of the destination terminal according to the priority of the call; to take into account the configuration of the destination terminal, and to allow users to adjust this configuration from a remote location.

  • Patent number: 6808929
Abstract: The invention relates to a microfabricated device for use in measuring the physical properties of compounds, where the properties measured using such devices are those which involve partitioning of the compound between two phases, measuring partition coefficients, distribution coefficients, acid-base dissociation constants, solubility and vapour pressure. The device comprises a microfabricated conduit, in which two fluids flow creating at least two phases between which the compound may partition, and a detector for measuring the amount of compound in each or both fluids.

  • Patent number: 6003334
Abstract: A finger ring size adjustment device comprises a ring shank and a cradle which is biased radially inward from the shank. The cradle is moveable between a retracted position and an adjusted position for reducing the ring size. The ring wearer thus has an adjustable ring shank for easily sliding over an enlarged knuckle or joint and then to a desired fit on the phalanx portion of the finger. The cradle is biased inwardly toward the adjusted position by a leaf spring in an automatically adjustable embodiment and a lever arm in an alternate embodiment. The manually operable lever arm is slidably engaged with the cradle and rotatably connected to the shank for moving the cradle between the retracted and adjusted positions. The lever arm is stored within the body of the shank when holding the cradle in the adjusted position.

  • Patent number: 5636531
Abstract: A finger ring size opening adjustment device comprises a cradle which is extended from a first open position within the shank of a ring to second closed position reducing the ring size and permitting the wearer of the ring a sufficient size to easily slide over an enlarged knuckle or joint and to then be reduced to a desired fit on the phalanx portion of the finger. An extensible arm member provides the positioning of the cradle and is modified to provide various size ring openings. In one embodiment of the invention, a lever arm is rotatably connected to the cradle wherein the lever arm remains within the body of the shank while holding the cradle in its closed position. In alternate embodiments described, extensible members include telescoping set screws, a set screw and guide post, and a piston extended by pressurizing chamber about the piston.
