Abstract: A case for a mobile device includes a frame and an elastomeric shell. The elastomeric shell is received in the frame and has an outer surface, an inner surface opposite the outer surface and configured for receiving the mobile device, and a rim extending between the outer surface and the inner surface. The inner surface forms inner projections each having an inner extremity extending toward an inside of the elastomeric shell and each being configured for contact with the mobile device when arranged in the inner surface. The outer surface forms outer projections defining respective outer projection extremities and forms outer troughs extending between the outer projections and defining outer trough extremities. The outer projections extend toward a frame inner perimeter of the frame such that each of the outer trough extremities is spaced further from the frame than adjacent ones of the outer projection extremities.

Abstract: An outer case for covering a handheld electronic device or handheld electronic device case includes a base, lid, and connecting portion. The base includes an elastomeric first layer and a second layer attached to the first layer and made of a different material than the first layer. The lid includes an elastomeric first layer and a second layer attached to the first layer and made of a different material than the first layer. The connecting portion is attached along a rear wall of the base and a rear wall of the lid. The rear walls of the base and the lid and the connecting portion are flush when the outer case is in a closed state with the lid covering an opening defined by the base. The connecting portion suspends the lid when the outer case is in a fully open state with the lid spaced from the base.

Abstract: A bumper (1) for a mobile device that includes a first layer (18) formed from an elastomeric first material and a second layer (2) formed from a second material different from the elastomeric first material. The first layer (18) is arranged on an outside of the bumper and the second layer (2) is arranged on an inside of the bumper so that the second layer (2) is between the mobile device and the first layer (18) when the mobile device is arranged in the bumper (1). The bumper (1) completely covers the mobile device, except for at least a portion of the front, at least a portion of the rear, and at least one speaker of the mobile device if present, when the mobile device is arranged in the bumper (1).

The placement, material, color, and properties of the insert helps reduce and/or eliminate problems associated with the case affecting the resultant flash/light from the camera causing and adding erroneous colors, effects, and information on the resulting pictures, images, sensors, or videos.

The first communication path connects the first openings so a securing device can be fed into one of the first openings and out of the other of the first openings. The second communication path connects the second openings so that the securing device can be fed into one of the second openings and out of the other of the second openings. The first openings are spaced apart from the second openings so the securing device can be secured to the holder at the first and second sets of openings, and additionally wrapped around the object to secure the holder thereto.
