  • Patent number: 8590191
Abstract: A wristband assembly comprising a wristband strap, a permanent adhesive supported by a first portion of the strap and adapted to secure the strap into a loop, and a temporary adhesive supported by a second portion of the strap. The wristband assembly can further include a liner positioned over the permanent adhesive, and preferably also over the temporary adhesive. The wristband assembly can also include a perforation between the second portion of the strap and the first portion of the strap to facilitate removal of the second portion. In this way, the second portion can act as a redeemable tag. After the tag has been removed and redeemed, the promoter can stick the tag to a tally sheet to organize the tags into groups of a defined number. The tally sheets can then be counted to determine the number of redeemed tags, without the need to count each tag.

  • Patent number: 8220191
Abstract: A wristband assembly comprising a wristband strap having a first portion, a second portion, and a fold line between the first portion and the second portion. The wristband strap is in a folded position with the first portion folded in overlapping relation with the second portion. A release layer is positioned on the first portion, and an adhesive is positioned on the second portion in releasable engagement with the release layer. Preferably, substantially the entire release layer is secured to the strap by a permanent adhesive. In use, the wristband assembly is provided to the user in the folded position. The assembly is used by disengaging the adhesive from the release layer, unfolding the first portion relative to the second portion, forming the strap into a loop, and engaging the adhesive with a surface of the strap. Preferably, the length of the assembly is increased when unfolding the assembly.

  • Patent number: 8196323
Abstract: A wristband assembly comprising a wristband strap, an adhesive positioned on the strap, and a liner assembly. The liner assembly includes a liner having a releasable portion in releasable contact with the adhesive, and an affixed portion secured to the wristband strap (e.g., by a bonding agent spaced from the adhesive). The releasable portion is spaced from the affixed portion. Preferably, the liner assembly further includes a release layer (e.g., comprising silicone) on the releasable portion and not on the affixed portion. In one embodiment, the release layer includes an edge between the releasable portion and the affixed portion, and bonding agent is spaced from the edge. In another embodiment, the liner includes a perforated portion between the affixed portion and the releasable portion (e.g., substantially at an edge between the releasable portion and the affixed portion).

  • Publication number: 20120125958
Abstract: A sheet of lanyards comprising a plurality of lanyard straps (e.g., made from spun plastic material). The straps are separated from each other by a tear-away zone (e.g., a perforation line), and each strap includes a weakened zone (e.g., a perforation line) across the width. An adhesive is positioned on each strap to facilitate securing the lanyard into a loop or attaching the lanyard to an object holder. In one embodiment, the adhesive comprises a first adhesive patch spaced from a second adhesive patch. For example, the first adhesive patch can be positioned adjacent one end of each strap and the second adhesive patch is positioned adjacent an opposite end of each strap. Preferably, the two patches of adhesive are both on the same side of the strap. Each strap can be used to suspend an object holder, such as an identification tag, alligator clip, hook, carabiner, or cardholder.

  • Patent number: 8151502
Abstract: A wristband tag strip comprises a border portion, a tag portion having a perimeter, and a cut portion between the border portion and the tag portion to define at least a portion of the perimeter. The cut portion includes a kiss-cut portion and a through-cut portion. In one embodiment, the perimeter comprises at least two corner sections separating at least two side sections, wherein through-cut portions define the at least two corner sections and kiss-cut portions define the at least two side sections. Preferably, the through-cut portion has a length that is at least 2% (e.g., at least 3%, 4%, or 5%) of a length of the perimeter. Also, the kiss-cut portion preferably has a thickness that is less than 25% (e.g., less than 15%, 10%, or 5%) of the thickness of the tag portion.

  • Publication number: 20110318521
Abstract: A neckband assembly comprising a neckband strap including a weakened zone across the width, and an adhesive positioned on the strap. In one embodiment, the strap comprises at least two weakened zones across the width, and the weakened zones are spaced from each other by a distance that is between 5% and 50% of the length of the strap. The weakened zone(s) can be in the form of a perforation line having a series of linearly-spaced holds separated by spaces. The above-described neckband assembly can be provided in the form of a sheet of such assemblies, wherein the corresponding straps are separated from each other by tear-away zones extending parallel to the length of the straps. Preferably, the tear-away zones are weaker than the weakened zones. Similar to the weakened zones, the tear-away zones can comprise perforation lines having a series of linearly-spaced holds separated by spaces.

  • Publication number: 20110131854
Abstract: A sheet of wristbands comprising a plurality of wristband straps, each including opposed side edges. A side edge of each strap is coupled to a side edge of an adjacent strap to form a series of side-by-side straps. A first strap defines a first side edge of the series and a second strap defines a second side edge of the series. A closure is positioned on each strap. A first tear strip is coupled to the first side edge, and a second tear strip is coupled to the second side edge. The first tear strip has a first length, and the second tear strip has a second length substantially equal to the first length. It is preferred that the first and second lengths are substantially equal to a length of the wristband straps. At least one wristband strap has an end edge that is exposed. Each tear strip can also have an end edge that is exposed. Preferably, the tear strips each have a width that is narrower than the width of the wristband straps.
