  • Patent number: 12620306
Abstract: Systems, methods, devices, and apparatuses for intelligent traffic signaling are disclosed. The system can include sensors for detecting approaching automobiles. The system can include a processor operable to receive data directly from nearby automobiles and detected data from the sensors. The processor can determine, based on the detected or received data, a level of safeness associated with crossing the opposing traffic lane. The level of safeness can be calculated by at least determining an expected time to arrival of an approaching automobile at the traffic intersection. The system can control one or more traffic beacons based on the level of safeness.

  • Patent number: 11205345
Abstract: Systems, methods, devices, and apparatuses for intelligent traffic signaling are disclosed. Standalone traffic signals are equipped with a plurality of sensors including RF, radar, Wi-Fi, and cellular sensors, etc., for detecting approaching automobiles in an opposing traffic lane. The traffic signal is controlled by a processor at an attached or nearby controller box, and the processor is operable to receive speed, location, and heading data directly from nearby automobiles. The processor determines, based on detected or received data corresponding to approaching automobiles, a level of safeness associated with crossing the opposing traffic lane. The level of safeness is calculated by determining an expected time to arrival of an approaching automobile at the traffic intersection, and comparing the expected time to a width of the opposing traffic lane. A light pattern at the traffic light indicates the calculated level of safeness.

  • Publication number: 20070067410
Abstract: Information is communicated both between one of a number of network server devices disposed in proximity to corresponding traffic devices and between such a network server device and a remote client device. The traffic devices can include intersection traffic signals, roadway sensors, message signs, video cameras, etc. Each network server device acts as a sensor for its corresponding traffic device to facilitate communication of information between the traffic device and a remote client device.
