Abstract: Methods are provided for producing insulated glazing units. The insulated glazing unit includes a first pane including a first outer edge, a second pane that overlaps the first pane and that includes a second outer edge, an outer edge sealing spacer arrangement that seals and maintains an inter-pane space between the first pane and the second pane, the outer edge sealing spacer arrangement including: a seat that receives the first outer edge and the second outer edge and that extends along the first outer edge and the second outer edge, a shoe that receives the seat, and a coupling between the seat and the shoe configured to maintain the seat within the shoe.

Abstract: A method for making a container includes forming a first cavity of a container by shaping an inner wall so that a first surface of the inner wall defines the first cavity; forming a second cavity of the container by shaping an outer wall so that a third surface of the outer wall surrounds a second surface of the inner wall such that together the third and second surfaces define the second cavity; and connecting the inner and outer walls together. The method then includes forming a hole through the outer wall to expose the second cavity to the outside ambient environment and then applying an enamel coating, while preventing the enamel coating from being deposited in the hole. After the enamel coating is applied, the method includes heating the container to glaze the enamel coating and fix the coating to the one or more surfaces.

Abstract: A carafe for holding a liquid includes a body having a cavity that is operable to hold a liquid, and a vent that allows fluid, such as air, to flow out of the cavity to the ambient environment, and from the ambient environment into the cavity, while liquid flows into and out of the cavity. The cavity has a mouth through which liquid flows when the liquid flows into the cavity and out of the cavity. The vent includes a passage that extends into the cavity of the body and has a first opening at a first end of the passage, a second opening at a second end of the passage. The passage's first opening is located in the cavity, the passage's second opening is located at the cavity's mouth. The passage is configured such that only the first opening and the second opening allow fluid access into the passage, and air inside of the cavity flows out of the cavity through the second opening when liquid flows into the cavity through the mouth.
