  • Publication number: 20190089773
Abstract: A segmentation system includes a cluster of segmentation servers that interoperate to obtain and manage a segmentation policy for controlling communications between workloads in an administrative domain. The cluster of segmentation servers includes a leader segmentation server and at least one member segmentation server. The leader segmentation server controls policy generation and distributes the segmentation policy to the member segmentation servers. The segmentation servers are each optionally paired with a respective set of workloads. The segmentation servers each distribute descriptions of their respective paired workloads to the other segmentation servers. Each segmentation server processes the segmentation policy to generate management instructions for controlling communications to and from their respective paired workloads and distributes the management instructions to the operating system instances executing the workloads to enforce the segmentation policy.

Abstract: Methods and structures for forming anodization layers that protect and cosmetically enhance metal surfaces are described. In some embodiments, methods involve forming an anodization layer on an underlying metal that permits an underlying metal surface to be viewable. In some embodiments, methods involve forming a first anodization layer and an adjacent second anodization layer on an angled surface, the interface between the two anodization layers being regular and uniform. Described are photomasking techniques and tools for providing sharply defined corners on anodized and texturized patterns on metal surfaces. Also described are techniques and tools for providing anodizing resistant components in the manufacture of electronic devices.

  • Patent number: 10130968
Abstract: A system and method for reducing or increasing the mechanical structure resonance of a synthetic jet device is disclosed. A synthetic jet device includes a first plate, a second plate spaced apart from the first plate, a spacing component coupled to and positioned between the first and second plates to form a chamber and including an orifice therein, and an actuator element coupled to at least one of the first and second plates to selectively cause deflection thereof, thereby changing a volume within the chamber so that a series of fluid vortices is generated and projected out from the orifice of the spacing component. At least one of the first and second plates includes a modified section that alters a mechanical resonance of the synthetic jet device, so as to control a level of acoustic noise generated by the synthetic jet device.

The method includes applying to the hair a hair color composition including one or more direct dye compounds and rinsing the hair with water. The one or more direct dye compounds each include a blue-violet or blue chromophore, one or two permanent cations, one to four incipient cations, and one or more hydrophobic moieties. The incipient cations are pendant to the core structure and are neutral. The direct dye compounds enter the hair shaft after the hair color composition is applied to the hair. The hair color composition has a pH of from about 6 to about 11. The pH of the hair after rinsing is from about 3.5 to about 6.
