    Abstract: The maximum pressure in a cylinder of an internal combustion engine is measured by a device which includes a pressure transducer housed in a water cooled, tubular body, one end of which can be connected to an engine indicator cock, and the other end of which is provided with a handle containing the transducer leads. The signal from the transducer is fed through signal conditioning and amplification, peak detector and comparator devices to a microprocessor which provides a visual, numerical indication of peak engine firing pressure.
