Abstract: An Internet of Things (IoT) device of a vendor is discovered based upon communications with the IoT device over a network. A vendor specific metric associated with the IoT device is identified based upon the communications with the IoT device over the network. The vendor specific metric is associated to a vendor agnostic metric. A standardized IoT device metric is determined based on the vendor specific metric and the vendor agnostic metric. Information expressed in terms of the vendor specific metric is received from the IoT device over the network. The information expressed in terms of the vendor specific metric is processed to obtain information expressed in terms of the standardized IoT device metric.
