  • Patent number: 9969327
Abstract: A vehicle load warning apparatus utilizing inductive proximity sensors to signal an alarm to an operator when a vehicle achieves a maximum weight. The vehicle load warning apparatus can also provide an intermediate warning to an operator when the vehicle approaches the maximum weight. The vehicle load warning apparatus can also utilize inductive proximity sensors at each end of both axles of a vehicle and provide imbalance warning signals if the weight on a vehicle is not equally distributed throughout the body of the vehicle.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 3, 2016
Date of Patent: May 15, 2018
    Inventors: Kevin Zielezinski, Bryan Schieler

  • Patent number: 7617957
Abstract: A new and improved mounting system, for fixedly mounting an exhaust gas deflector component upon the upper cap member of a pneumatically-powered fastener-driving tool, comprises a fastener disposed internally within the upper cap member of the pneumatically-powered fastener-driving tool and not extending externally through the exhaust gas deflector component. In this manner, not only does the exhaust gas deflector component of the pneumatically-powered fastener-driving tool exhibit an aesthetically pleasing external appearance, but in addition, the absence of any externally visible fastener structure, extending through the exhaust gas deflector component, permits various indicia, such as, for example, the company logo, to effectively be incorporated upon the external surface portion of the exhaust gas deflector component.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 27, 2007
Date of Patent: November 17, 2009
    Assignee: Illinois Tool Works Inc.
Inventors: Greg Holderfield, Joey Nakayama, Michael Johnson, Ricardo Segura, Bryan Schieler

  • Patent number: 7318546
Abstract: An adjustable depth-of-drive mechanism for a fastener driving tool having a housing structure defining an axis, and a nosepiece extending generally axially from the housing structure, includes a lower work contact element having a sleeve for reciprocatingly receiving the nosepiece, an upper work contact element attached at a first end to the housing structure, a rotatable thumbwheel assembly having a first portion engageable with the lower work contact element, a thumbwheel assembly accessible by a user and a second portion having at least one detent assembly, and a retaining mechanism for retaining the thumbwheel assembly relative to the upper work contact element where the second portion is received by a second end of the upper work contact element, where during thumbwheel rotation relative to the first portion in either direction, the position of the lower work contact element is moved relative to the nosepiece.
