Abstract: Described in detail herein are systems and methods for routing data in a distributed environment. A controller can maintain an inactive state. A terminal can receive a request associated with a physical object. The terminal can be communicatively coupled to a cloud computing system. The terminal can attempt to transmit the request to the cloud computing system. A router communicatively coupled to the controller and cloud computing system can attempt to initiate communication between the terminal and the cloud computing system in response to the terminal attempt to transmit the request to the cloud computing system. The router can route the request to the controller in response to failing to initiate communication between the terminal and the cloud computing system after specified amount of time. The controller can switch from an inactive state to an active state in response to receiving the request.

Abstract: In an example, a method can include receiving, at a merchant-facing portion of a payment system, data from a customer-facing portion of the payment system indicating a payment transaction between a merchant and a customer, wherein there is a physical connection between the portions; determining that the payment system is unable to access a remote payment service system via an external network; determining that the payment transaction is not preapproved for payment by the remote payment service system; storing the payment transaction on the merchant-facing portion even though the payment transaction is not preapproved; determining that the payment system is able to access the remote payment service system via the external network; and transmitting transaction information including the stored payment transaction to the remote payment service system, via the external network, for processing the stored payment transaction.

Abstract: A mold assembly for use in manufacturing parts includes a first and second mold halves and a mold temperature control system. The first mold half comprises at least a first mold cavity and a first coolant passage. The second mold half comprising at least a second mold cavity and a second coolant passage. The mold temperature control system is in fluid communication with the first and second coolant passages of the first and second mold half. The mold temperature control system comprises a fluid, a means to control the temperature of the fluid, and a pump to circulate the fluid through the mold temperature control system and the first and second coolant passages.

Abstract: A payment processing system receives, from a plurality of merchant computing devices associated with respective merchants, transaction information of transactions performed between the respective merchants and customers. Further, the system may receive, from a first computing device, a request to finance a purchase to be made by a customer from a first merchant. The system may determine, based at least partially on analysis of previous transactions of the customer determined from the received transaction information, financing terms for the purchase, the financing terms including a financed amount and repayment terms for the customer for the financed amount. The system may transmit the financing terms to the first computing device, and may receive an acceptance by the customer of the financing terms. Additionally, the system may send, based on the approved financed amount, a communication indicating an amount to provide to an account associated with the first merchant.

Abstract: In some examples, a system may provide financing to a user associated with a user account. Further, a predefined time period for repayment of the financing may be associated with the financing. The system evaluates transactions processed via a user computing device of the user to determine, based at least on the evaluation, that the user is either ahead of schedule or behind schedule to repay the financing according to the predefined time period for repayment. Based at least on the evaluation and based on determining that the user is either ahead of schedule or behind schedule, the system may dynamically adjust a rate of repayment for the financing so that the user is on track for repaying the financing according to the predefined time period for repayment.

Abstract: A method includes receiving, by a mobile device, a notification, executing, in response to receiving the notification, a data collection application over a time interval, and requesting, by the data collection application, sensor measurements from an operating system of the mobile device. The sensor measurements are collected prior to receiving the notification and before execution of the data collection application. The method also includes receiving, by the data collection application and from the operating system, a set of sensor measurements and transmitting, by the data collection application, the sensor measurements to a server during the time interval. The data collection application terminates upon expiration of the time interval.

Abstract: Techniques associated with a customer-facing device and a merchant-facing device are described herein. In an example, a system can include a customer-facing device configured with a customer application that is executable on an operating system of the customer-facing device to (i) display information to a customer and (ii) receive input from the customer, wherein the customer-facing device includes a payment reader to read payment data from a payment instrument in association with a payment transaction between the customer and a merchant, and a merchant-facing device configured with a merchant application that is executable on an operating system of the merchant-facing device to (i) display information to the merchant and (ii) receive input from the merchant. In at least one example, the customer-facing device and the merchant-facing device can communicate to process, at least in part, the payment transaction associated with the payment instrument via a remote payment service system.

Abstract: A family of connectors to accommodate a single twisted pair of conductors is disclosed herein. The family of connectors includes a free connector, a fixed connector, and an adapter; the free and/or fixed connectors can be modified to accommodate the adapter configuration and/or modified to accommodate various patch cord configurations. In certain embodiments, the one or more of the family of connectors adopts an LC fiber optic style connector configuration and an LC fiber optic footprint configuration. In certain examples, one or more of the family of connectors adopts an LC fiber optic style connector configuration but in a footprint that is larger or smaller than the footprint of the LC fiber optic footprint. Other configurations may also be adopted.

Abstract: An embodiment provides a method for making a non-hazardous iron product for treating wastewater, including: adding sodium bisulfite to a solution comprising iron, creating an aqueous solution; adding an amount of sodium hydroxide to the aqueous solution to increase the pH of the aqueous solution to between 2-2.5; determining an amount of sodium bicarbonate and adding the identified amount of sodium bicarbonate to the aqueous solution, wherein the sodium bicarbonate adjusts the pH of the aqueous solution to a desired pH; and providing a buffer to the aqueous solution to generate a slurry.
