  • Patent number: 11145168
Abstract: A gaming system offers players the opportunity to play a skill-based challenge and bettors to place wagers based on events or outcomes in the skill-based challenge. A gaming system includes a processor, a display device, an input device and a memory device storing a plurality of instructions which, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to operate with the display device and the input device, for a play of a wagering game, to perform operations. Operations include receiving, from a bettor, a wager that corresponds to a selected player of a plurality of players in a skill-based challenge, determining that the selected player has achieved a threshold outcome in the skill-based challenge, awarding a bettor monetary prize to the bettor in response to the selected player achieving the threshold outcome in the skill-based game, and awarding a player monetary prize to the selected player.

  • Patent number: 10431040
Abstract: An events agent core library of software functions, when executed by at least one processor of a client device, receives notifications of in-game events from game content software downloaded to the client device from a game supplier server and executing on the client device providing wagering game play to a user of the client device. Based on the notifications, the events agent core may report at least some of the in-game events to a front-end set of processor-executable instructions downloaded to the client device from a gaming operator server different from the game supplier server, the front-end set of processor-executable instructions being configured to cause the at least one processor of the client device to implement an out-of-game response based on at least one of the reported in-game events.

  • Patent number: 10347082
Abstract: The gaming systems and methods of the present disclosure provide a skill-based wagering game and determining the AEP % for each play based on the player's skill level. Generally, for a play of the skill-based wagering game, the gaming system receives a skill-based input from a player, derives a player skill level from the skill-based input, and determines an AEP % for the play based on the player skill level. The AEP % ranges from a minimum, nonzero AEP % to a maximum AEP %. The higher the player's skill level, the closer the AEP % is to the maximum AEP %, and vice-versa. The nonzero minimum AEP % appeals to low- and medium-skill players since they have a chance to win awards even if they perform poorly for a given play. High-skill players enjoy an advantage over their low- and medium-skill counterparts since they can use their high skill level to achieve comparatively higher AEP %'s.

  • Publication number: 20180082535
Abstract: The gaming systems and methods of the present disclosure improve gaming technology and solve the above-described problem by providing a physics-based game including objects that have gameplay-altering features. Instead of acting conventionally when used for a play of the physics-based game, these objects may act unconventionally to alter an aspect of gameplay (as compared to gameplay without objects having gameplay-altering features). Because the objects may act unconventionally, player interactivity increases, and the gaming system emphasizes sound player decision-making: players must now account for the (possible) unconventional actions of the objects when making gameplay decisions like how to bet, which objects to pick, or where to release those objects.
