    Abstract: The present invention provides a multilayer film capable of withstanding retort conditions, and wherein each of the polymers making up the various layers of the film are capable of coextrusion with one another. In a preferred embodiment, the present film comprises a five-layer film, wherein a core layer and two outer layers are adhered to one another by two tie layers, and each of these layers are capable of coextrusion with one another.
