  • Publication number: 20230301619
Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for restoring venous valve function. In some embodiments, for example, a system includes an implantable coil and a deployment device therefor. The implantable coil has a non-coiled configuration in a first state and a coiled configuration in a second state configured to compress incompetent valves. The deployment device includes a handle, an outer sheath, a needle, and a mandrel. The handle includes a first actuator and a second actuator. The outer sheath includes a side opening proximate a distal end. The needle is operatively coupled to the first actuator. The mandrel is operatively coupled to the second actuator. The mandrel is configured to push the implantable coil through a needle tip of the needle, which allows the implantable coil to transition from the first state within the deployment device to the second state outside of the deployment device such as around a vein.

  • Publication number: 20220330929
Abstract: A biopsy system includes a biopsy probe configured to sever tissue to acquire a tissue sample. The biopsy probe has biopsy needle portion having a proximal end, a distal end, and a lumen. A vacuum source is coupled to the lumen. The vacuum source is configured to generate a vacuum to transport the tissue sample through the lumen and expel the tissue sample from the lumen at the proximal end of the biopsy needle portion. An arrangement of compression plates is configured to receive the tissue sample from the proximal end of the biopsy probe and is operable to compress the tissue sample. The arrangement of compression plates has a plurality of impedance measurement electrodes. An impedance measurement circuit is connected to the plurality of impedance measurement electrodes.

  • Publication number: 20210404459
Abstract: A peristaltic pump apparatus for a medical device has a housing, a motor, a first peristaltic pump head, a second peristaltic pump head, a first clutch assembly, and a second clutch assembly. The motor is directly connected to the housing and has a rotatable drive shaft. Each of the first peristaltic pump head and the second peristaltic pump head is coupled to the rotatable drive shaft. The first clutch assembly has a first rotor fixedly connected to the rotatable drive shaft and a first stator directly connected to the housing. The first clutch assembly is configured to selectively electromagnetically couple the first rotor to the first peristaltic pump head. The second clutch assembly has a second rotor fixedly connected to the rotatable drive shaft and a second stator directly connected to the housing. The second clutch assembly selectively electromagnetically couples the second rotor to the second peristaltic pump head.

  • Patent number: 8594773
Abstract: A system denoises and rejects artifacts from cardiac signals, by accepting a cardiac signal from a patient, processing the cardiac signal from the patient using a frequency band width controllable choke to separate the cardiac signal into predefined frequencies, filtering each of the predefined frequencies to remove dynamic common noise, joining each of the predefined frequencies into a cardiac signal without the dynamic common noise, and providing feedback control of the filtering of each of the predefined frequencies.

  • Patent number: 8175076
Abstract: A system provides synchronization between different medical signal (e.g., EKG and ICEG signal) acquisition and processing devices. A system synchronizes multiple different patient medical parameter processing devices, using a master clock generator. The master clock generator is adaptively programmable to provide synchronization clocks having frequencies compatible with multiple different medical devices for acquiring patient medical parameter data and for synchronization of processing of medical parameter data concurrently acquired from a single particular patient. The master clock generator is programmed by dividing a clock signal to provide a desired clock frequency in response to received frequency selection command data.

  • Patent number: 7839011
Abstract: An apparatus and method for signal transmission with isolation in medical devices. Data signals, such as patient measurement data and medical instrumentation control signals are converted to dynamic signals which are transmitted on power lines through an isolation module, such as a transformer. The dynamic signals are then converted to data signals having a voltage based on the frequency of the dynamic signals.
