  • Publication number: 20130166688
Abstract: A communication system including a server connected to a first network, a network storage connected to a second network different from the first network and communicates with the server, and a user terminal. The network storage transmits a storage request signal to the server, the server transitions to a standby state in response to the storage request signal and issues setup information including storage identification information identifying the network storage. The network storage receives and outputs the setup information, and the user terminal transmits a user request signal including the storage identification information and terminal identification information based on the setup information. The server then associates the terminal identification information and the storage identification information upon receiving the user request signal.

  • Publication number: 20130136131
Abstract: A relay device for relaying a communication packet between a first network and a second network. The relay device stores a first correlation information correlating an Internet Protocol (IP) address assigned to an electronic device in the first network to a Media Access Control (MAC) address of the electronic device. The relay device then determines a MAC address of a forwarding destination of a specific communication packet for enabling a service provided by the electronic device after activation of the electronic device by referring to at least the first correlation information using destination information in the specific communication packet, when the specific communication packet sent from the second network toward the first network is received by the relay device; and transmits an activation request packet to the electronic device using the determined MAC address.

  • Publication number: 20130132576
Abstract: An access point AP that is an embodiment of a network device assigns an IP address to a terminal connected to the access point AP itself. The access point AP includes: a distributing unit 118 that distributes the IP address to terminal and has functionality to notify the terminal to transmit all access requests to the network device AP itself; a distribution control unit 120 for switching the functionality of the distributing unit 118 to be operative on the basis of the generation of a predetermined starting event; an accepting unit 112 for accepting any given access request from the terminal; and a notifying unit 114 for notifying the requesting terminal of information for accessing the network device AP when the accepting unit has accepted the request, regardless of the content of the request.

  • Publication number: 20130114410
Abstract: In a state where a network relay device 10 receiving packets whose share of TCP packets requiring reliability is high, a flow control function is automatically set to be operative. This configuration enables suppression of overflow of the buffer of a switching engine 121, enabling high-reliability communications. Conversely, in a state where the network relay device 10 receiving packets whose share of UDP packets is high, a flow control function is automatically set to be inoperative. This configuration enables communications with higher real-time responsiveness than when the flow control function is set to be operative. When the flow control function is set to be inoperative, UDP packets are transmitted with priority over TCP packets. Therefore, setting of the flow control function to be inoperative coupled with transmission of UDP packets with priority enables communication with yet higher real-time responsiveness than when the flow control function is set to be inoperative.
