Abstract: A compact UV water treatment device for spas. The device includes a reactor chamber through which the water circulates which includes a housing that receives the UV source. The housing can be a quartz tube and is protected from physical shocks by resilient members. The housing is secured within the reactor chamber via a nut assembly that does not exert force against the side walls of the housing but exerts force in the direction of the axis of the housing against a resilient and compressible seal member. The nut also has an opening that allows the UV source to be removed for replacement and a removable cap that secures the UV source within the housing.
