Patent number: 10547496Abstract: A network management architecture referred to as the Control/Orchestration/Management/Policy/Analytics (COMPA) architecture (or COMPA for short). The COMPA architecture functions to simplify and automate the operations (both management and business process) of a network. In one aspect, the COMPA architecture addresses four use case categories: (1) Resource/Service Onboarding; (2) Automated Product Offerings; (3) Automated Management; and (4) Service Exposure. COMPA enables rapid service introduction into the network and lifecycle management; dynamic network governance via policy; and controlled access to functionality provided by different responsibility domains.Type: GrantFiled: May 23, 2016Date of Patent: January 28, 2020Assignee: TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET LM ERICSSON (PUBL)Inventors: Bo Åström, Jan Friman, Bulent Gecer, Jan Lemark, Christoph Meyer, Maria Belen Pancorbo Marcos, John Quilty, Stephen Terrill

Patent number: 9332055Abstract: The present invention relates to methods and apparatuses for finding out which XDM server a specific user is allocated to in a network with several XDM servers. An HTTP proxy (120) receives an XCAP request (610) from an XDM client (100), including information related to a user associated with the XDM client. The HTTP proxy checks if the user exists in its storage (330), based on the received user information, and if not, the HTTP proxy creates a SIP request (630) including the user information, and passes it over to a SIP Proxy (130, 230). The SIP Proxy finds out which XDM server the user is allocated to by enquiring a subscriber database (140), and then the SIP proxy passes the XDM server address information back to the HTTP Proxy (640), which is then able to route the XCAP request (650) to the correct XDM server (150, 250).Type: GrantFiled: February 2, 2010Date of Patent: May 3, 2016Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (publ)Inventors: Bulent Gecer, Mikael Klein, Sofie Lassborn

Publication number: 20140089485Abstract: A method and arrangement in a dispatcher function in a telecommunication network for providing notifications of updates is provided. The dispatcher function receives, from a central database, an update notification. The dispatcher function identifies, at least partly based on the content of the update notification, at least one of the application server instances entitled to receive the update notification. The dispatcher function provides the data notification to the identified application server instances, thereby enabling the central database to operate in a stateless manner with respect to at least one User Equipment associated with the at least one application server instances.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 29, 2011Publication date: March 27, 2014Applicant: TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L M ERICSSON (PUBL)Inventors: Christer Boberg, Antonio Alonso Alarcon, Bulent Gecer

Patent number: 8566954Abstract: The invention provides a method of authorizing provision of in-directed content to a user of an IPcommunications network. The in-directed content is associated with a presentity subscriber of a presence service, the presence service including authorization rules regarding users to which the in-directed content may be provided. The in-directed content is stored at a content server that is not controlled by the presence service. The method includes receiving at an authorization proxy in the network a request from the user to be provided with the in-directed content, and identifying the presentity subscriber associated with the requested in-directed content. The authorization proxy retrieves the authorization rules to verify that the user is authorized to receive the in-directed content. Subject to the verification, the in-directed content is provided from the content server the user.Type: GrantFiled: February 8, 2008Date of Patent: October 22, 2013Assignee: Telefonaktiebolaget LM Ericsson (Publ)Inventors: Christer Boberg, Bulent Gecer, Mikael Klein, Sofie Lassborn, Anders Lindgren

Publication number: 20120271921Abstract: A data retrieving node and a method in a data retrieving node in a communication system are provided for providing information on activities and situation of a user to a Complex Event Processing (CEP) engine. The data retrieving node comprises a communication unit adapted to receive an event initiation notification, which event initiation notification comprises an identification of the user. The data retrieving node further comprises a processing unit adapted to, in response to the event notification, request and obtain data relating to the user, from a plurality of data nodes, via the communication unit. The processing unit is further adapted to provide the obtained data to the CEP engine in one or more data streams via the communication unit.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 12, 2011Publication date: October 25, 2012Applicant: TELEFONAKTIEBOLAGET L M ERICSSON (PUBL)Inventors: Bulent Gecer, Bo Åström
