  • Patent number: 8685561
Abstract: The present invention relates to a rechargeable battery and, more particularly, to a rechargeable battery for preventing detachment due to deformation of a resin member by strengthening the fixing force of the resin member connecting a bare cell with a protection circuit module. The rechargeable battery according to the present invention includes a bare cell provided with a cap plate; a protection circuit module; and a resin member, wherein the rechargeable battery further includes a reinforcing member composed of a support plate part connected to one side of the cap plate and provided with a rivet through-hole; a resin fixing part integrally formed with one end of the support plate part, and bent at a certain angle in the direction of the protection circuit module and protruded therefrom; and a rivet connecting part fixing the support plate part to the cap plate by perforating the rivet through-hole.

  • Patent number: 8623531
Abstract: A battery pack that does not increase contact resistance when an impact is applied to a bare cell and a protection circuit module. The battery pack includes: a bare cell having a surface on which at least one coupling groove is formed; a protection circuit module electrically connected to the bare cell; at least one coupling member having one end coupled to the protection circuit module and another end in which at least one coupling hole corresponding to the at least one coupling groove of the bare cell is formed, and tightly adhered to the bare cell; at least one screw bolt coupled to the at least one coupling groove through the at least one coupling hole; and at least one space formed in an opening part of the at least one coupling groove, having a diameter greater than that of the coupling groove. Therefore, the battery pack does not increase the contact resistance between the bare cell and the protection circuit module against an external impact.

  • Patent number: 8268463
Abstract: The present invention relates to a secondary battery and a method of fabricating the same. In a secondary battery according to an embodiment of the invention, holding members for holding a molded resin member are formed on a cap plate of a bare cell, which prevents the molded resin member from being distorted or detached from the cap plate of the bare cell when battery parts, such as a protection circuit board and a secondary protection element, are coupled to the bare cell by the molded resin member.

  • Patent number: 8263240
Abstract: A secondary battery includes a bare cell having an electrode assembly. The electrode assembly has cathode plates, anode plates and separators insulating the cathode plates from the anode plates. The secondary battery also includes a can housing the electrode assembly, the can having an opening for receiving the electrode assembly and a cap assembly having a cap plate sealing an opening of the can, the cap plate having a terminal through-hole, an electrode terminal inserted into the terminal through-hole, and a gasket insulating the electrode terminal from the terminal through-hole. A protective circuit board is coupled to the bare cell and a molding resin molds the protective circuit board with the bare cell. The gasket includes a coupling extension constraining the molding resin at the cap plate.
