  • Patent number: 11955818
Abstract: Disclosed is a method (310) for providing operational feedback during power transfer in a wireless power transfer system. The wireless power transfer system comprises a power transmit device arranged to transfer power over an inductive wireless power transfer interface operating at a transmit frequency to a power receive device. The wireless power transfer system is adapted to transfer information at half duplex using Frequency Shift Keying, FSK, in one direction and Amplitude Shift Keying, ASK, in the other direction. The method comprises transferring (308), at the transmit frequency by the power transmit device, power to the power receive device. During the transferring (308), the method further comprises transmitting (311), at the transmit frequency by one of the power transmit device or the power receive device, a first data packet to the other of the power transmit device or the power receive device using one of two modulation types being FSK or ASK.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method for transferring data during power transfer in a wireless power transfer system (100). The wireless power transfer system (100) comprises a power transmit device (120) arranged to transfer power over an inductive wireless power transfer interface (105) operating at a transmit frequency to a power receive device (110). The wireless power transfer system (100) is adapted to transfer information at half duplex using Frequency Shift Keying, FSK, in one direction and Amplitude Shift Keying, ASK, in the other direction. The method comprises transferring, at the transmit frequency by the power transmit device (120), power to the power receive device (110) and, during the transferring transmitting, at the transmit frequency by one of the power transmit device (120) or the power receive device (110) a first data packet to the other of the power transmit device (120) or the power receive device (110) using one of two modulation types being FSK or ASK.

  • Patent number: 9531084
Abstract: Antenna systems are provided including a chassi and first and second radiating elements coupled to the chassi. The first radiating element is configured to amplify excitation of the chassi and the second radiating element is configured to reduce excitation of the chassi so as to reduce mutual coupling in the antenna system. Related co-located antennas and methods of controlling mutual coupling are also provided.

  • Publication number: 20150009075
Abstract: A novel multi-antenna design approach is proposed to obtain uncorrelated and energy efficient antennas. By manipulating the chassis, more than one characteristic mode is enabled to resonate at frequency below 1 GHz. With proper excitations for different characteristic modes, which are inherently orthogonal to each other, well performed multiple antennas with low mutual coupling and correlation are achieved. Three examples of chassis manipulation, a bezel structure and two T-shaped structures with metal strips along the chassis, are introduced. With efficient excitations of the fundamental dipole mode and T-strip mode, two antennas with low correlations and high total antenna efficiencies are achieved, with both antennas covering one or more of the low frequency LTE bands 5, 6, 8, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18, 19, and 20 in combination with one or more of high frequency LTE bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 9, 10, 11, 15, 16, 21, 23, 24, and 25.

  • Patent number: 8059058
Abstract: An antenna system is disclosed that includes two or more antennas and an impedance matching network. The antennas of the antenna system are closely separated, such as by a distance of no more than a wavelength of received signals divided by two. The impedance matching network is adapted to respond to and counteract performance degradation resulting from cross coupling between the antennas. Related methods for use in an antenna system are disclosed.

  • Publication number: 20100201598
Abstract: An antenna system (30) comprising two or more antennas (301) and an impedance matching network (302). The antennas (301) of the antenna system (30) are closely separated, e.g., at a distance of less than or equal to ?/2 from each other, where ? is a wavelength of the signals. The network (302), which is adaptive, may be adapted to consider and/or counteract any performance degradation resulting from coupling, which may be the result of the antennas (301) being placed closely together. The invention also relates to a method for use in the antenna system (30).
