  • Patent number: 8971934
Abstract: A mechanism is described for facilitating real-time customization of messages to be transmitted between computing systems according to one embodiment of the invention. A method of embodiments of the invention includes receiving a notification relating to call made to a first computing device from a second computing device. The call may remain unanswered. The method may further include accessing a first data relating to a current status of the first computing device, analyzing the first data, and customizing, in real-time, a response based on the analyzed first data. The method may further include transmitting the customized response to the second computing device, in response to the unanswered call.

  • Publication number: 20130297424
Abstract: In one example embodiment of a method for automating business negotiations, a vendor offers a product for sale at an original price. Subsequently, an automated haggling system receives a counteroffer to buy the product from a mobile device controlled by a shopper. The counteroffer proposes a second price for the product. In response to the counteroffer, the automated haggling system automatically determines whether the second price is acceptable. This determination may be based on data from a negotiation database with data identifying acceptable reduced prices. If the counteroffer proposes an acceptable price, the automated haggling system sends a message to the mobile device of the shopper to signify acceptance the counteroffer. In response to a determination that the shopper is purchasing the product at a point-of-sale (POS) station, the POS station automatically charges the shopper the negotiated price tier the product. Other embodiments are described and claimed.

  • Patent number: 8527787
Abstract: A system and method for changing computing environments for a mobile platform device. The mobile platform includes a sensory and location determination engine coupled to a policy engine. The sensory and location determination engine determines a current location of the mobile platform device and the policy engine determines what applications to launch, what applications not to launch, and what core usage to invoke for the determined location of the mobile platform device.

  • Publication number: 20080162873
Abstract: In some embodiments, the invention involves a system and method to provide maximal boot-time parallelism for future multi-core, multi-node, and many-core systems. In an embodiment, the security (SEC), pre-EFI initialization (PEI), and then driver execution environment (DXE) phases are executed in parallel on multiple compute nodes (sockets) of a platform. Once the SEC/PEI/DXE phases are executed on all compute nodes having a processor, the boot device select (BDS) phase completes the boot by merging or partitioning the compute nodes based on a platform policy. Partitioned compute nodes each run their own instance of EFI. A common memory map may be generated prior to operating system (OS) launch when compute nodes are to be merged. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
