  • Publication number: 20130059288
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for the enrichment and/or isolation of target cells in a sample, which sample comprises red blood cells and/or platelets, comprising (a) filtering the sample through a filter element having a pore or mesh size of between 0.5 and 5 ?m, (b) contacting the cells retained by the filter element in step (a) with a separation surface, wherein said separation surface comprises affinity molecules which selectively bind to the target cells, (c) incubating the cells and the separation surface under conditions which allow for the binding of the affinity molecules to the target cells; and (d) separating the separation surface from any unbound cells and material.

  • Publication number: 20060147911
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the detection and characterisation of primary tumours and separate areas of primary tumours, respectively. Clusters of tumour cells, extracted from sample material, are isolated and concentrated, followed by an analysis of genetic changes in these isolated cell clusters.

  • Patent number: 5725748
Abstract: In a process for an electrochemical treatment of cellulose waste lye, mass transport takes place through a diaphragm or membrane between a cathode chamber and an anode chamber, and optionally through a middle chamber. Cationogenic components are removed from cellulose waste lye containing lignin sulfonates and being located in at least one of the chambers. Lignin sulfonic acids are produced from the waste lye. In an installation for an electrochemical treatment of cellulose waste lye, at least one diaphragm divides at least one reaction vessel into at least one cathode chamber and at least one anode chamber. At least one cathode electrode is disposed in the at least one cathode chamber, and at least one anode electrode is disposed in the at least one anode chamber. The at least one cathode electrode is formed of iron or aluminum and the at least one anode electrode is formed of special steel, in particular V4A steel.

  • Patent number: 4250479
Abstract: A transformer bobbin assembly having a first bobbin piece dimensioned to accommodate at least one additional bobbin piece within its central cavity. Each bobbin piece having a pair of flanges, one at each end and perpendicular to its central cavity, defining a channel around the outer surface of the bobbin piece to accommodate a single coil winding. The surface distance over the flange of the larger bobbin piece from the end of its cavity to the top of the flange plus the thickness of this flange is selected to provide at least the minimum creepage and clearance distances required by a selected industrial safety standard. If two bobbin pieces, each being fully insertable within the interior cavity of the larger bobbin piece, are utilized, the necessary creepage and clearance distances between the coil wound on each of these nesting bobbin pieces is provided by a web within the cavity of the larger bobbin piece. This web is centrally located within and parallel to the flanges of the larger bobbin piece.

  • Patent number: 3967049
Abstract: A mounting strap for mounting an electrical wiring device, such as a switch, having apertures at both ends for receiving mounting screws. The apertures have resilient lips which engage the threaded portion of the screws to prevent the free movement thereof. The mounting strap is adapted to fit on a mounting box with the electrical wiring device located within the mounting box.
