    Abstract: Oxidative compositions for oxidative treatment of hair, kits including such compositions, and methods for oxidative color change are provided. An exemplary oxidative composition includes comprises water, hydrogen peroxide, at least linear saturated 1-alkanol with from about 12 to about 30 carbon atoms, at least one anionic surfactant selected from alkyl sulfates and alkyl ether sulfates, dipicolinic acid, 1-hydroxyethane-1,1-diphosphonic acid, disodium pyrophosphate, benzoic acid or a salt thereof, and potassium hydroxide. The exemplary oxidative composition has a pH in the range of from about 2 to about 3.8, each measured at 20° C. The exemplary oxidative composition includes no phosphoric acid, no salicylic acid, no diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid, no ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid, no nitrilotriacetic acid nor salts thereof, and no phenacetin, no stannates, no cationic surfactants and no oil.
