Patent number: 8992293Abstract: A ventilator (10) is disclosed which includes a ventilator intake hood (11), a pressure relief valve block (12), and a nozzle plate (13). The pressure relief valve block includes a field of pressure relief valves (19) positioned within air channels (20). The nozzle plate includes a field of fourteen nozzles (22) which are aligned with an air channel of the block. Each nozzle defines an interior passage (23) which tapers inwardly as it extends outwardly along the direction of airflow. The nozzles accelerate the airflow so that moisture within the air entering the cooled enclosure does not immediately freeze upon the adjoining enclosure to form an ice block.Type: GrantFiled: July 7, 2006Date of Patent: March 31, 2015Assignee: Kason Industries, Inc.Inventor: Burl Finkelstein

Patent number: 6877346Abstract: A walk-in freezer door system has a doorjamb with sheets of metal covering a body of thermal insulation. A door is mounted to the doorjamb. A deadbolt housing is mounted to the outside of the doorjamb with a deadbolt mounted for reciprocal movement within the housing between a door locked and a door unlocked position. A handle is rotatably positioned inside of the doorjamb from which a shaft extends into the deadbolt housing and into operative association with the deadbolt. A longitudinal portion of the handle shaft is made of a low thermal conductive plastic. A keeper is mounted to the door in a position to receive the deadbolt with the door located within the doorjamb.Type: GrantFiled: January 15, 2002Date of Patent: April 12, 2005Assignee: Kason Industries, Inc.Inventor: Burl Finkelstein

Publication number: 20040226141Abstract: A reversible handle for a door having left and right door edges includes a grip generally perpendicular to the left and right door edges and spanning between two handle coupling members. The grip is reversibly positionable in proximity to either of the left or right door edges. A handle extension is coupled to the grip by a connector plate that couples a first end of the handle extension to an adjacent one of the two handle coupling members. The connector plate is configured to couple the handle for use with either a left-hand or right-hand door. The handle extension extends away from the connector plate in a direction generally opposite the grip and couples with a door hinge on the opposite side of the door. The grip is symmetrically configured, such that the grip can be positioned for left-hand or right-hand door opening without turning the handle on the door surface.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 13, 2003Publication date: November 18, 2004Applicant: Manitowoc Foodservice Companies, Inc.Inventors: Gaylon Yates, Gary B. Patent number: 6796001Abstract: A height adjustable support is provided for supporting food service equipment and the like at different elevations above a supporting floor. The support comprises a floor engaging member such as a leg or caster that has a threaded upright stud and a coupling having an internally threaded tubular wall threaded thereon. The support also has at least one set screw threaded channel that extends through the tubular wall and a set screw sized to be threaded through the coupling set screw threaded channel and into setting engagement with the stud. So constructed the coupling may be inserted into a bottom channel of the food service equipment with the floor engaging member stud threaded therein and set at a selected position thereby setting the equipment height.Type: GrantFiled: July 31, 2002Date of Patent: September 28, 2004Assignee: Kason Industries, Inc.Inventor: Burl Finkelstein
