  • Patent number: 4967475
Abstract: An improved all-way offset snips with full width wire cutter has bosses through which first and second blade members are pivotably connected for rotation about an axis perpendicular to the pivot bosses. The blade members have extended offset cutting surfaces with respect to the pivot bosses to permit the cutting of irregular shapes, particularly sharp curves and especially small circles, including opposing circles of about 2.0" to 2.5" diameters. The cutting surfaces are rotatable between an open position and a closed position for cutting the sheet material therebetween. The pivot bosses and the cutting surfaces are adapted for removal of material therefrom to permit resharpening of the offset snips while maintaining the offset of the cutting surfaces. The shanks of the blade members are also provided with wire cutting means, preferably a pinch cutter capable of being a limit stop for limiting rotation of the first and second blade members.

  • Patent number: 4850254
Abstract: A locking hand tool has an adjustable jaw and an opposing movable infinitesimally adjustable jaw, a fixed handle and a movable handle and lever-locking means therebetween for establishing and maintaining a toggle relation between the jaws when in a closed position, an extension bar at a fixed angle to the fixed handle, means for supporting and moving the movable jaw along the extension bar, and means for holding it securely at any position, whereby a user can clamp on and hold a workpiece securely with the use of only one hand.

  • Patent number: 4707924
Abstract: A locking hole punch for punching holes in metal sheets, particularly metal sheets difficult of access such as metal C-studs, is disclosed. This hole punch comprises an arm member that has a head at the end of an outwardly curved portion and a first handle extending from that curved portion. A first lever member formed in a generally mating outwardly curved configuration is pivotably connected to the arm at the top of the arm handle at a first pivot. A generally straight second lever, which acts as a second handle spaced from the arm handle, is pivotably connected to the first lever member at a second pivot near the first pivot. A toggle member is connected to the second lever at a third pivot and to the arm handle at a fourth pivot. When the arm and second handles are pressed together, the toggle member is driven so that the second, third, and fourth pivots are moved into a straightline alignment so that the punch, which includes a punching pin, is driven into a working position with the head.
