  • Patent number: 7048150
Abstract: A fluid container for use in accessing an obstructed fill port of a machine for inserting fluids therein includes a housing for containing a fluid, the housing having a top surface with an opening formed therein. A collapsible tube is aligned with the opening and affixed to the housing for providing a fluid exit path, the tube being manually extended and retracted. A channel is formed on the top surface of the housing for receiving the collapsible tube when the tube is in a retracted lateral position. An alternative embodiment of the fluid container exhibits a molded pocket formed beneath the bottom surface of a first housing for receiving a collapsible tube of a second housing when the collapsible tube of the second housing is in a retracted lateral position. Both the channel and the molded pocket facilitate vertical stacking of the containers.

  • Patent number: 6923509
Abstract: A remotely activated electro mechanical device is mounted in the dual chamber brake system of a vehicle or trailer. The device includes a solenoid valve and a receiver decoder which controls the valve in response to a coded signal ideally available only to law enforcement to vent pressure in the emergency chamber of a dual chamber brake system to automatically apply the brakes thereby bringing a moving vehicle to a stop. The device is also responsive to a second, different coded signal, available only to authorized users to vent pressure in the emergency chamber and to lock the brakes by preventing pressurized air from being supplied to the dual chamber brake system of a stopped or parked vehicle. The device is also responsive to coded signals which reverse the above-noted actions.

  • Patent number: 6595392
Abstract: A spray pump apparatus typically employed in gardening and commercial applications wherein a charged liquid is sprayed in a garden environment or on a floor surface for removing spills, grease or stains. In its most fundamental embodiments the spray pump apparatus for use in spraying: fluids includes an outer housing and a pump assembly in mechanical communication with the outer housing for developing a pressure therein. An integral bladder assembly is mounted within the outer housing and comprises an integrally formed combination of a flexible bladder, a hose and a nozzle. The flexible bladder is subjected to the pressure developed by the pump assembly for expelling a fluid contained within the flexible bladder, wherein the integral bladder assembly is installed in and removed from the outer housing as the integrally formed combination.

  • Patent number: 6402261
Abstract: In a theft deterrent security device for trailers and like equipment having a dual chamber brake system that operates with compressed air an electro mechanical device, such as servomotor or a solenoid, is mounted within the interior of the dual chamber brake system housing in which an expanded high spring-rate spring biases and keeps a brake actuator in a locked “brakes on” position when there is no compressed air supplied to the system. The servo motor or solenoid is connected to members which in one position mechanically block movement of the brake actuator to prevent its normal operation even when there is compressed air available to the system and the high spring-rate spring is compressed. In a second position of the servo motor or solenoid the members do not block movement of the brake actuator and thereby allow normal operation of the brakes. The servo motor or solenoid is responsive to coded signals which control its position and which are normally available only to an authorized user.

  • Patent number: 4884781
Abstract: A valve assembly is disclosed in which a valve adapted for opening a fluid passage is normally biased into closed position. The valve is opened by movement of a piston operated by hydraulic pressure of a liquid contained in a chamber disposed behind the piston. The hydraulic pressure of the liquid is generated by an actuating force, such as manual depression of a handle. A duct permitting restricted flow of the hydraulic liquid, however permits escape of the hydraulic liquid from the chamber when the hydraulic liquid is pressurized and thereby gradually relieves pressure from the piston even when the actuating force is maintained. The hydraulic liquid escapes into a second chamber from where it returns through a relief valve into the first chamber when there is no actuating force on the handle.

  • Patent number: 4777744
Abstract: A display button includes a front body member which has an opening or window. A disc-shaped member is rotatably mounted behind the front body member and retained there by a retainer member wedged or friction-fitted into a rearwardly folded circumferential lip or ear of the front body member. The disc-shaped member has at least one slot into which an indicia carrying insert can be inserted either through a slot of the window or of the retainer member. A plurality of distinct and unique indicia are affixed to the disc-shaped member on the side which faces the front body member, positioned so that each indicia can be brought into registry with and selectively displayed through the window.

  • Patent number: 4314682
Abstract: A mechanism is described for deploying a shield from a space vehicle or the like. Such a shield may be employed for minimizing radar echo, for protecting the vehicle from solar radiation, or for providing a bumper for minimizing damage from micrometeoroids. A spring loaded mechanism is provided so that the shield can be folded into a compact package for launch of the space vehicle. The spring loaded mechanism further provides for rapid development of the shield when restraints are released. Arrangements are provided for deploying semi-cylindrical shields and quarter spherical shields.
