  • Patent number: 6509823
Abstract: An electrical functional device for use in the field of aviation, for example, a safety switch, is described. The functional device has a housing out of which a cylindrical fixing neck projects. The fixing neck contains, on an outer circumference thereof, a fine-pitch threading for screwing on a nut, and carries, at a distance from the end thereof that is attached to the housing, a radially protruding bearing flange. The bearing flange serves to hold the device in a fixed position, in which the fixing neck projects through a fastening hole of a wall element and is held therein against the bearing flange by a nut. The fixing neck is a one-piece part made out of plastic. It contains, between the end of the threading thereof and the bearing flange, an unthreaded shaft area, which is coaxial in relation to the fixing neck.

  • Patent number: 4044325
Abstract: A pushbutton actuated excess current switch with thermal tripping by a bimetal strip and with trip-free release. The pushbutton includes a component incorporating an actuating rod, a connecting bridge and a stud pointing away from the actuating rod and having an annular groove for receiving one end of a disconnecting spring the other end of which is supported in a switch housing, this component being unitarily made of synthetic material. Furthermore a threaded sleeve inserted into the switch housing and serving for guiding the pushbutton or the actuating rod as well as for affixing the switch housing is unitarily produced from synthetic material. The use of such unitarily produced components simplifies the manufacture of the switch.

  • Patent number: 4000484
Abstract: A directly heatable bimetallic strip which can be disposed to carry the load current through a thermal trip. The bimetallic strip comprises an elongate member having first and second end portions and an intermediate portion. The intermediate portion comprises three or more odd number of parallel arms extending substantially longitudinally of the strip. The arms are connected in meanderline fashion with one arm connected to the first end portion and another arm connected to the second end portion and the junctions of the arms being spaced from the first and second end portions. Two connecting pieces of an insulating material are provided. One connecting piece rigidly joins together the first end portion, the arm connected thereto and the junction or junctions adjacent to, but spaced from, the first end portion, and the other connecting piece rigidly joins together the second end portion, the arm connected thereto and the junction adjacent to, but spaced from, the second end portion.
