  • Patent number: 11593619
Abstract: A computer architecture for multiplier-less machine learning is disclosed. According to some aspects, a neural network apparatus include processing circuitry and memory. The processing circuitry accesses a plurality of weights for a neural network layer and an input vector for the neural network layer, the input vector comprising a plurality of data values. The processing circuitry provides the plurality of weights and the input vector to an addition layer. The addition layer generates data value-weight pairs and, for each data value-weight pair, creates an input block comprising a sum of the data value and the weight. The processing circuitry sorts the input blocks generated by the addition layer. The processing circuitry cancels any opposite signed input blocks from the sorted input blocks to generate a set of blocks. The processing circuitry outputs a Kth largest value from the set of blocks. K is a positive integer.

  • Patent number: 11561893
Abstract: A system and method is disclosed for managing data in a non-volatile memory. The system may include a non-volatile memory having multiple non-volatile memory sub-drives. A controller of the memory system is configured to route incoming host data to a desired sub-drive, keep data within the same sub-drive as its source during a garbage collection operation, and re-map data between sub-drives, separate from any garbage collection operation, when a sub-drive overflows its designated amount logical address space. The method may include initial data sorting of host writes into sub-drives based on any number of hot/cold sorting functions. In one implementation, the initial host write data sorting may be based on a host list of recently written blocks for each sub-drive and a second write to a logical address encompassed by the list may trigger routing the host write to a hotter sub-drive than the current sub-drive.

  • Publication number: 20230009378
Abstract: An imitation learning system may learn how to play a video game based on user interactions by a tester or other user of the video game. The imitation learning system may develop an imitation learning model based, at least in part, on the tester's interaction with the video game and the corresponding state of the video game to determine or predict actions that may be performed when interacting with the video game. The imitation learning system may use the imitation learning model to control automated agents that can play additional instances of the video game. Further, as the user continues to interact with the video game during testing, the imitation learning model may continue to be updated. Thus, the interactions by the automated agents with the video game may, over time, almost mimic the interaction by the user enabling multiple tests of the video game to be performed simultaneously.

  • Patent number: 11506562
Abstract: A fluid pipe 1 is monitored using a distributed acoustic sensing (DAS) fibre 10 provided within pipe 1. The DAS fibre 10 is coupled at one end to a light emitter 101 and a light detector 102. The light emitter 101 emits light pulses into the DAS fibre. The light detector 102 detects backscattered light so as to provide an indication of the vibration experienced by each section of the DAS fibre 10 and thus of vibration characteristic of particular pipe events including leaks of the pipe 1. The DAS fibre 10 in a pipe 1 can also be used to locate the route of a buried pipe 1 by successively tamping the ground surface at a number of locations A-E in the vicinity of the suspected route of the pipe 1 and comparing the tamping vibrations detected from each location A-E.

  • Patent number: 11477122
Abstract: Technologies for improving throughput in a network include a node switch. The node switch is to obtain expected performance data indicative of an expected data transfer performance of the node switch. The node switch is also to obtain measured performance data indicative of a measured data transfer performance of the node switch, compare the measured performance data to the expected performance data to determine whether the measured data transfer performance satisfies the expected data transfer performance, determine, as a function of whether the measured data transfer performance satisfies the expected data transfer performance, whether to force a unit of data through a non-minimal path to a destination, and send, in response to a determination to force the unit of data to be sent through a non-minimal path, the unit of data to an output port of the node switch associated with the non-minimal path. Other embodiments are also described.
