  • Patent number: 7717688
Abstract: An oil pump for a compressor is provided. The oil pump includes a pump body, a driving shaft coupled to the pump body, with a supply passage extending therethrough, and a plurality of pumping members which rotate with the driving shaft. Fluids such as oil are inhaled into the pump through various intakes, and the inhaled oil is directed towards the driving shaft, where the oil is supplied to the friction parts of the compressor for lubrication. The plurality of intakes into the pump provide for a continuous supply of oil to the friction parts.

  • Patent number: 7645129
Abstract: An oil pump for a compressor includes a driving shaft having an oil passage, a gear driving unit coupled to the drive shaft, a pump body having a driving shaft insertion groove, a friction reducing member assembled on the driving shaft insertion groove to reduce friction between the driving shaft and pump body, and a a gear unit coupled to the pump body and rotating with rotation of the driving shaft. The pump may further include a pump cover coupled to the pump body and having an intake for inhaling oil.

  • Patent number: 7513760
Abstract: An oil pump of a scroll compressor is provided. The oil pump includes a pump body to which a drive shaft is inserted; a gear unit inserted to a lower side of the pump body and rotating by the rotation of the drive shaft; and a pump cover coupled to a lower side of the pump body and including an inlet through which oil is introduced, an outlet through which the introduced oil is discharged to the drive shalt, and one or more noise reducing portions reducing noise generated during a pumping process.

  • Patent number: 6499978
Abstract: A scroll compressor is disclosed. In the scroll compressor of this invention, the involute fixed and orbiting scroll wraps engage with each other to form a plurality of variable compression chambers between them. In the compressor, at least one of the involute fixed and orbiting scroll wraps is formed at a middle section thereof to be thicker than the other sections. Therefore, it is possible for the fixed and orbiting scroll wraps to engage with each other without forming a gap at the central portion of the compression part, thus minimizing a leakage of compressed gas refrigerant during a gas refrigerant compressing process of the scroll compressor. The scroll compressor of this invention is thus improved in its gas refrigerant compression efficiency, and is reduced in its operational noises.

  • Patent number: 6478556
Abstract: Disclosed is an asymmetric scroll compressor. The compressor includes an orbiting scroll possessing a wrap which has an involute curve-shaped configuration, an Oldham ring arranged on a lower surface of the orbiting scroll to prevent the orbiting scroll from being reversely rotated, and a fixed scroll having a wrap which has an involute curve-shaped configuration and is engaged with the wrap of the orbiting scroll such that compression chambers are defined between the wraps of the orbiting and fixed scrolls by rotating motion of the orbiting scroll. The wrap of the fixed scroll further extends within the range of 180° than the wrap of the orbiting scroll in a direction where an involute curve extends.
