    Abstract: Disclosed is a system and a method for providing a terminal with a notification message reporting changes of a system and of a service in the middle of a Digital Video Broadcasting-Handheld (DVB-H) broadcasting service. The system inserts channel information related to the transmission of the notification message into Electronic Service Guide (ESG) service fragment or ESG acquisition fragment, then transmits the inserted channel information, or specifies a notification session for a session to transmit the session. In this manner, the channel information related to the notification message can be transmitted to a terminal through an ESG, and the terminal acquires the channel information related to the notification message from the received ESG to receive the notification message by using the channel information.
