  • Patent number: 11277159
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, a system that facilitates receiving electromagnetic waves having polarized modes propagating along a transmission medium, detecting according to an analysis of the electromagnetic waves that the transmission medium is birefringent thereby causing a differential delay between the polarized modes, and adjusting a configuration of a receiver receiving the electromagnetic waves to mitigate the differential delay between the polarized modes. Other embodiments are disclosed.

  • Patent number: 10944466
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a method, includes coordinating relay transmission of a modulated signal via relay links of a distributed antenna system to reduce an accumulated forwarding delay in forwarding the modulated signal through the relay links. One of the relay links of the distributed antenna system reconverts the spectral segment of the modulated signal for transmission to a communication device to which the modulated signal is directed.

  • Patent number: 10779248
Abstract: Incorporation of a mesh base station in a wireless network is presented herein. The mesh base station can utilize common wireless resource allocations as a corresponding wireless base station while transmitting to wireless subscriber stations during the same time period. The mesh base station obtains a data packet from the wireless base station over a backhaul link during a scheduled time period and transmits the data packet to the designated wireless subscriber station during another scheduled time period. The wireless base station and the mesh base station can also receive data packets from wireless subscriber stations during a same time period. A wireless network can be configured with two mesh base stations at an approximate boundary of two adjacent sector coverage areas, where a coverage area is supported by a wireless base station and each mesh base station supports wireless subscriber stations within a coverage radius.

  • Patent number: 10390272
Abstract: A system and methodology that facilitates macrocell-to-femtocell handovers during an on-going communication session by augmenting a neighbor list with femtocell data is provided. Moreover, the femtocell data associated with a set of femtocells that the a user equipment (UE) is authorized to access is added to a neighbor list. When a handover is initiated, the femtocell data is utilized to facilitate scanning of a radio environment of the user equipment to detect a target cell site for the handover. In one aspect, location data and/or serving cell data associated with the set of femtocells is utilized to limit the number of femtocells that are added to the neighbor list.

  • Patent number: 10020864
Abstract: Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, a device, process or software that determines an operation between a number of pairs of antennas of a set of antennas. A pair of antennas of the number of pairs of antennas is determined based on the operation. One antenna of the pair of antennas is eliminated from the set of antennas, which results in a reduced number of antennas remaining in the set of antennas. Each of the determining of the operation, the determining of the pair of antennas of the reduced number of antennas and the eliminating of the one antenna of the pair of antennas is repeated in response to the reduced number of antennas being greater than a predetermined number of antennas. Other embodiments are disclosed.
