  • Patent number: 7017282
Abstract: A washing machine including a drying apparatus. The washing machine including the drying apparatus quickly dries wet laundry by efficiently condensing and adsorbing vapor from humid air of high temperature flowing from a water tub during a drying-mode operation. The drying apparatus includes a condensing duct and a blower duct respectively mounted on a rear surface and an upper surface of the water tub. The condensing duct has an ultrasonic atomizing unit, a condensing unit and a water adsorption unit therein, while the blower duct has a blower fan and a heater therein. An inner space of the condensing duct is partitioned into a first condensing path, a second condensing path and a third condensing path by a first air guide and a second air guide.

  • Publication number: 20060016093
Abstract: A washing machine includes a drum; a discharging duct communicating with the drum, and discharging inner air of the drum; a supplying duct communicating with the drum, and supplying external air into the drum to make a flow direction of the external air pass across that of the inner air; and a heat exchanger connected to the discharging and supplying ducts, in which a first air flow path which passes therethrough the inner air discharged outward through the discharging duct and a second air flow path which passes therethrough the external air supplied into the drum through the supplying duct cross each other. The washing machine may also include a humidity regulating part which reduces the humidity of the inner air as it is discharged. Thus, the washing machine improves efficiency of heat exchange between the inner air and the external air through the heat exchanger.

  • Publication number: 20060016092
Abstract: A drum washing machine includes a drum; a drying duct communicating with the drum; a fan for introducing air into the drying duct; and a heater provided in the drying duct and for heating the air from the fan. The drying duct is insulated so as to prevent heat generated by the heater from being radiated outward. Thus, the drum washing machine prevents heat generated by the heater from being radiated from the drying duct, thereby reducing heat-loss.

  • Publication number: 20050284195
Abstract: A washing machine is provided that includes a drum; and a condensing duct that communicates with the drum and is supplied with air from an inside of the drum. A coolant spray is provided inside the condensing duct, and sprays coolant from a lower portion to an upper portion of the condensing duct. A washing machine is thus provided that enhances condensation efficiency by increasing a contact time between hot moisture-laden air in a condensing duct and the coolant while decreasing time consumed during a drying phase. In addition, the washing machine can enhance the condensation efficiency by changing a spray direction of a coolant spray device.
