  • Publication number: 20190217951
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a saucer type hovercraft having at least a pair of selectively counter-rotating lift and stabilization rings. The rings are held in place by correspondingly shaped circular bearing tracks and are powered by thrusters and electromagnets such that a central shaft is not needed. A wireless control system is used to control both speed and direction of rotation of the wings.

  • Publication number: 20180099168
Abstract: A fire retarding missile and method of use having a unitary construction and containing a propulsion system as well as fire treatment materials. Dispersal of the materials can be initiated both actively and passively, with passive dispersal allowing for a fail safe mode of operation. The fire treatment materials are of the oxygen reduction type, and the method of the invention is to target the hot spot of a fire in order to reduce the spread and intensity thereof. An active guidance system may be of the heat seeking type, or may alternatively be remote controlled video. Stabilizer and guidance fins are controlled in response to signals from the guidance system in order to precisely position the device. In one embodiment, the device can be broken down to allow for easy replacement of certain components. The device can be modified for use in fires of specific heat ranges by using nose cones designed to melt in a respective heat range.

  • Patent number: 9016206
Abstract: A projectile designed to penetrate a liquid filled vessel and react with the liquid contained within the vessel. The projectile is formed of a narrow tapered nose portion with a thin liquid soluble casing which contains a reactive material. The nose portion is formed of spent radioactive material and is connected to an axially extending centrally positioned rod having a pressure plate on its distal end. The projectile casing contains potassium or other material which reacts with water or other liquid to create an explosion once the casing has dissolved within the vessel.

  • Patent number: 8730300
Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method of encoding, broadcasting, transmitting, decoding, and displaying a 3D image signal. The image signal is acquired by deploying a pair of stereoscopically positioned digital cameras to acquire a corresponding pair of digital image signals. A first camera is operated in a horizontal scan mode, while a second camera is operated in a vertical scan mode to produce differential video signals. The unmixed signals are simultaneously transmitted, each via one of dual single sidebands on the same center frequency. A video receiver includes digital signal decoding and processing circuitry and a standard digital display having both horizontal and vertical scan capability. The receiver decodes the dual sideband signal and presents the 3D image signal via alternating horizontal and vertical scans to produce a 3D image.

  • Patent number: 8240238
Abstract: A system and apparatus for detecting and neutralizing remotely activated explosive devices in a combat zone, especially one of relatively limited geographic area such as an urban setting. The apparatus is configured for mounting on or within an airborne drone and includes both transmitting and receiving circuits and antennas. The apparatus detects radio transmissions by analyzing received signals using standard RF direction finding techniques and a spectrum analyzer or other signal processing circuitry. Signals may be classified as threats using predetermined criteria, and the direction of threat signals may be assessed to allow for a determination of an enemy position from which an explosive is to be detonated. The apparatus also transmits a jamming signal which may serve to detonate devices within the dynamic RF footprint of the transmitting antenna. The drone also includes a highly directional low frequency audio device which is periodically directed randomly and at suspected enemy positions.

  • Patent number: 6150654
Abstract: A fiber optic computing transistor apparatus is provided. In it most basic form, the invention contemplates a stack of vertically aligned optical transistors. The transistor are optically isolated from each other by an opaque material, and are selectively read by pulsing control lines which are operably connected to light responsive areas of the transistor. The system of the invention would have particular application in environments where stray electromagnetic radiation is to be minimized.

  • Patent number: 5839144
Abstract: An automatic boot cleaning apparatus is provided. The apparatus has at least three brushes and a scraper. The brushes are positioned to apply scrubbing force to the underside of the sole of a boot or shoe, as well as the sides of the boot or shoe. The scraper is positioned behind the brushes and may be used to remove the excess mud or dirt from the boot or shoe. The apparatus is preferably powered by an AC motor which is connected to a source of AC power. The brushes may be rotated continuously in one direction, or oscillated thereby increasing the effectiveness of the cleaning operation. In an alternative embodiment, the device is connected to a source of fluid pressure and has a plurality of fluid outlet nozzles secured to the scraper. The nozzles are arranged to spray fluid directly onto the brushes and thus are capable of effecting a self cleaning operation. The entire housing, including the activation switch, is sealed against environmental effects allowing for outdoor use.
