  • Publication number: 20120127858
Abstract: A packet scheduling apparatus and method to fairly share network bandwidth between multiple subscribers and to fairly share the bandwidth allocated to each subscriber between multiple flows are provided. The packet scheduling method includes calculating first bandwidth for each subscriber to fairly share total bandwidth set for the transmission of packets between multiple subscribers; calculating second bandwidth for each flow to fairly share the first bandwidth between one or more flows that belong to each of the multiple subscribers; and scheduling a packet of each of the one or more flows based on the second bandwidth.

  • Patent number: 8050560
Abstract: A distributed resources sharing method using weighting factors of sub-domains in an optical network includes connecting working paths to an optical network according to a request of a subscriber, and calculating weighting factors for measurement of concentration of the sub-domains including the working paths by using information on connected working paths. The method also includes setting up the backup paths by using the weighting factors, and allocating resources in response to connection request at the time of setting up the backup path and sharing the allocated resources. With this method, it is possible to prevent a waste of idle resources caused from concentration of allocated resources. In addition, since the information of the idle resources in the network can be sensed at the time of selecting the backup paths by using a weight factor, the shared resources can be distributed, thereby maximizing efficiency of the resources.

  • Publication number: 20110141899
Abstract: Provided is a network access apparatus that is configured in an Internet Protocol (IP) network to thereby connect a user equipment and a service providing apparatus to the IP network. The network access apparatus may include: a packet receiver to receive a packet transferred from a user equipment and a service providing apparatus; an Operation, Administration, and Maintenance (OAM) packet processor to generate an OAM packet in the case of a source access apparatus, and to receive an OAM in the case of a destination access apparatus, and to contain load and traffic information of the destination access apparatus and generate the OAM packet in response to the source access apparatus; a traffic manager to measure and control traffic; and a packet transmitter to transmit, to a destination, a packet output from the OAM packet processor and the traffic manager.

  • Patent number: 7774538
Abstract: Provided are a method for Ternary Contents Address Memory (TCAM) table management and a computer-readable recording medium for recording a program that implements the method. The method includes the steps of: a) dividing a memory area of TCAM into fixed-size blocks depending on priority to configure a lookup table; b) assigning a priority to each routing entry being inputted to the lookup table based on prefix length; c) storing the routing entry having been assigned with the priority in a lookup table block of a corresponding priority; and d) when a modification occurs in the lookup table, modifying the lookup table to maintain an arranged state for a longest prefix match.

  • Patent number: 7599310
Abstract: Provided are an apparatus and method for managing quality of a multi protocol label switching (MPLS) label switched path (LSP), which has been previously established in a convergence network. The apparatus for managing quality of a LSP includes: LSP provisioning/releasing means for provisioning and releasing the LSP in a convergence network; and LSP quality management means for measuring the quality of the LSP on the basis of performance information received from the each node through which the LSP passes, wherein the LSP quality management means transmits alert information to the LSP provisioning/releasing means, when the measured quality of the LSP deviates from a predetermined performance threshold, so that the LSP is readjusted.

  • Patent number: 7548510
Abstract: Provided is a method of constituting a highly reliable control network in an IP-based network environment and, more particularly, a protocol technology for automatic control channel constitution and protection. The method includes functions of protection group (PG)-1/3 control channel identification, detour control channel identification, an automatic switchover, a forced switchover, a control channel unavailability notice, a protection/switchover properties information inquiry, an Hello, a protocol error notice, and re-transmission. This invention provides a protection mechanism of control channels without additional overhead and with higher level of resilience capability to improve shortcomings of the LMP and MPLS based schemes.

  • Publication number: 20080131123
Abstract: A distributed resources sharing method using weighted sub-domain table of sub-domains in a GMPLS optical network is provided. The distributed resources sharing method includes; connecting working paths to an optical network according to a request of a subscriber; calculating a weighting factor for measurement of concentration of the sub-domains including the working paths by using information on connected working paths and information on backup paths; setting up the backup paths by using the weighting factors; and allocating resources in response to connection request at the time of setting up the backup path and sharing the allocated resources. Accordingly, it is possible to prevent a waste of idle resources caused from concentration of allocated resources.
