  • Patent number: 11915853
Abstract: A coil component is provided. The coil component includes a body having fifth and sixth surfaces opposing each other, first and second surfaces respectively connecting the fifth and sixth surfaces of the body and opposing each other, and third and fourth surfaces respectively connecting the first and second surfaces of the body and opposing each other in one direction, a recess disposed in an edge between one of the first and second surfaces of the body and the sixth surface of the body, a coil portion disposed inside the body and exposed through the recess, and an external electrode including a connection portion disposed in the recess and connected to the coil portion, and a pad portion disposed on one surface of the body. A length of the pad portion in the one direction is greater than a length of the connection portion in the one direction.

  • Patent number: 6510126
Abstract: An optical disc for an optical near-field recording having a surface with a textured structure formed with a plurality of bumps and craters, and a method of manufacturing the optical disc. An optical flying head has a slider which contacts the bumps when in a parking zone (non-moving state) so that a contact area between the optical disc and the optical flying head is reduced. Accordingly, a stiction force is reduced, so that the wear and damage to the optical disc having the textured structure and to the optical flying head are minimized.

  • Patent number: 5976617
Abstract: A method of initializing a phase transformation-type optical disk. The initialization method includes the steps of: (a) preparing a phase transformation-type optical disk in which a first dielectric layer, a recording layer including a small amount of crystalline structure in a major amorphous structure, a second dielectric layer and a reflective layer are sequentially deposited on a substrate; (b) irradiating a high power laser beam, which is enough to heat the recording layer to a temperature above its melting point, onto the optical disk, thereby transforming the crystalline structure in the recording layer into an amorphous structure; and (c) irradiating a lower power laser beam, which is capable of heating the recording layer to a temperature range above a recrystallization temperature and below its melting point, onto the optical disk, thereby transforming the amorphous structure of the recording layer into the crystalline structure.
