  • Patent number: 7697486
Abstract: Disclosed a transmission apparatus in a CDMA mobile communication system. Transmission frames each have a plurality of time slots, and each of the time slots includes two data parts having the same length, a midamble intervening between the data parts, and a guard period for dividing the consecutive time slots. • Publication number: 20090257397
Abstract: Provided is a method for switching a piconet device to a coordinator in a piconet. The method receives the latest order of precedence as the next PNC information from the current PNC. Thereafter, the method detects a P-CTA allocated to devices of the piconet using a beacon of a superframe received from the PNC. On failing to receive a beacon from the PNC, the method detects whether “beacon non-receipt” indicating information that is transmitted between piconet devices during the detected P-CTA. If the “beacon non-receipt” indicating information is not detected, the method does not perform a PNC appropriation operation. If the “beacon non-receipt” indicating information is detected, the method determines that the PNC has left the piconet without performing a normal PNC handover procedure and thus performs a PNC appropriation operation according to the order of precedence information.

  • Publication number: 20090197624
Abstract: When an event associated with a mobile station occurs, a relay station requests a base station to allocate a dedicated control channel required for transmitting control information on the mobile station to the base station. Next, when the control information on the mobile station is generated, the relay station transmits the control information to the base station through the dedicated control channel. Accordingly, since the base station allocates the dedicated control channel to the relay station in advance before the control information is generated in the relay station, the relay station can transmit the control information to the base station with a minimum of time delay.

  • Patent number: 7512086
Abstract: Disclosed is an uplink random access procedure in an NB-TDD (Narrow Band Time Division Duplexing) system. To achieve an acknowledgement for data transmission from a UTRAN (UMTS Terrestrial Radio Access Network), a UE selects one of a plurality of sync codes by which the UTRAN identifies UEs that request data transmission and transmits the selected sync code in a time slot of a sub-frame to the UTRAN. Then, the UE receives the sync code information, information about the arrival time of the sync code, time update information indicating a variation in the transmission time of data, and power information indicating an adjustment to a power gain in the UE from the UTRAN on an FPACH (Fast Physical Access Channel). The UE transmits the data on a P-RACH (Physical Random Access Channel) mapped from the FPACH according to the time update information and the power information.

  • Patent number: 7277407
Abstract: In a mobile communication system, if a UE enters a SHO (Soft Handover) region, the UE determines weight information for a DPCH and a PDSCH depending on DPCH signals and PDSCH signals received from Node Bs, and transmits the determined weight information to the Node Bs. The Node Bs then determine weights of the DPCH signals and the PDSCH signals to be transmitted to the UE depending on the feedback information received from the UE, and transmit the determined weights to the UE along with the DPCH signals and the PDSCH signals, respectively.

  • Patent number: 7010317
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for determining transmission power of a second TFCI bit indicating transport format information of data on a downlink shared channel transmitted from a selected Node B to a UE in a mobile communication system including the UE existing in a handover zone and a plurality of Node Bs in an active set of the UE. The Node Bs transmit dedicated channel data including a first TFCI bit to the UE over dedicated channels. A first Node B transmits dedicated channel data over a dedicated channel and transmits downlink shared channel data over the downlink shared channel. The first Node B determines a transmission power level of the second TFCI bit to be higher than a ratio of transmission power of the dedicated channel data from a Node B transmitting only the dedicated channel data to transmission power of the first TFCI bit.

  • Patent number: 6956829
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for measuring a propagation delay value of a frame transmitted by a UE (User Equipment) to a Node B in a TDD (Time Division Duplexing) mobile communication system. The UE acquires synchronization with the Node B based on a downlink pilot channel signal transmitted in a period of a downlink pilot time slot, and determines an estimated round trip delay value T1 by comparing transmission power of a physical common channel signal in a first time slot with reception power of the same signal. The UE receives a transmission point correcting value T2 through a forward physical access channel (FPACH) signal transmitted from the Node B in a period of one downlink time slot among the time slots, and transmits a physical random access channel (PRACH) message with the estimated round trip delay value T1 at a transmission point determined based on T2 and T1.

  • Patent number: 6690712
Abstract: There is provided a transmission diversity system. In the case where an MS supporting a different antenna transmission diversity scheme enters the service area of a 4-antenna transmission diversity UTRAN, the UTRAN can transmit pilot signals and common data signals to the MS without the need of modifications to the MS. Therefore, power is distributed among antennas of the UTRAN and system capacity is increased.
