  • Patent number: 6618887
Abstract: A drawer-type washing machine and process of washing laundry using the washing machine is disclosed. The washing machine has a housing opened at its front to form a cavity. A cabinet, opened at its top, is received in the cavity of the housing such that the cabinet is movable forward or backward relative to the housing. A washing tub unit, consisting of an outer tub and an inner tub, is set within the cabinet. This washing tub unit contains washing water therein, and carries out both a washing operation and a spin-drying operation for laundry contained therein. A drive unit is installed at a position under the outer tub of the washing tub unit, and rotates the inner tub of the washing tub unit. A suspension unit supports the washing tub unit within the cabinet while performing a damping function of attenuating operational vibrations of the washing tub unit.

  • Publication number: 20030151315
Abstract: Disclosed is an outer rotor type induction motor. The present invention includes a driving shaft, a stator core fixed to a frame and having a plurality of stator slots so that the driving shaft penetrates a center of the stator core, a coil wound on the stator slots so as to form a rotatory magnetic field, a rotor housing installed outside the stator core so as to maintain a predetermined slit with the stator core wherein the driving shaft is coupled through a bottom center of the rotor housing, a rotor conductor coupled with an inner circumference face of the rotor housing so as to generate a torque by the rotatory magnetic field of the coil, and a plurality of upper blades installed at an upper end of the rotor housing so as to leave a predetermined interval therebetween wherein an external air is forcibly sucked in to cool the coil when the rotor housing revolves.

  • Publication number: 20030140947
Abstract: A dishwasher includes an interior tub and a wash pump for pumping wash liquid to wash dishes located in the interior tub. A pump motor for driving the wash pump is regulated by a control unit that adjusts a spraying pressure of wash liquid. The method for operating a dishwasher includes sensing the degree to which wash liquid is soiled and regulating the speed of a pump motor for spraying wash liquid against the dishes, depending upon the degree to which the wash liquid is soiled. The regulation of the pump motor adjusts the wash liquid spraying pressure.

  • Publication number: 20030097719
Abstract: Method for controlling washing in a washing machine including the steps of (a) sensing an amount of laundry in an inner tub and determining a washing water level proper to the amount of laundry, (b) introducing washing water into the inner tub according to the washing water level, and (c) rotating the inner tub in one direction so that the washing water rises along a space between the inner tub and an outer tub and is sprayed into the inner tub again by a centrifugal force during the step (b), whereby carrying out a pre-washing during water supply even if no separate water re-circulating device is provided.
