    Abstract: An aftermarket vehicle mount for an electronic device (e.g., a tablet computer) consists of an extensible mounting base, one end of which removably attaches to a windshield, the other end of which rotatably attaches to an electronic device holder. The electronic device holder grasps an electronic device with spring-loaded arms. The extensible mounting base has a folded configuration, in which the electronic device rests flat on the top of a dashboard, and an unfolded configuration, in which the electronic device drapes over the front of the dashboard, at an appropriate viewing angle for a passenger. In either configuration, the electronic device may be easily rotated between landscape and portrait orientations, but unwanted motion of the electronic device from sudden accelerations (e.g., from encountering a pothole) is minimized. Embodiments suitable for home and office are also contemplated.
