Publication number: 20240131404Abstract: Embodiments of wood-type club heads comprising one or more components are described herein. The wood-type club head comprises a first, metallic component, and a second, non-metallic component. The first component comprises the load bearing structure that forms the striking face, and portions of the crown, the heel, the toe, and the sole. The second component comprises a lightweight structure that wraps around the first component to form portions of the crown, the heel, the toe, and the sole. The first component comprises the majority of the club head mass and can receive removable weights. The two-component design allows for additional discretionary mass redistribution to improve center of gravity location and moment of inertia.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 11, 2023Publication date: April 25, 2024Inventors: Travis D. Milleman, Clayson C. Spackman, Cory S. Bacon

Publication number: 20240100403Abstract: Described herein are embodiments of an iron-type golf club head comprising a rear opening and an insert. The insert either partially or fully occupies the club head interior cavity. The insert damps vibrations occurring within the club head at impact to provide a desirable sound and feel. The insert is formed of a low-density material, thereby providing a significant damping effect while also creating discretionary mass.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 21, 2023Publication date: March 28, 2024Inventors: Clayson C. Spackman, Matthew W. Simone, Cory S. Bacon

Publication number: 20240091605Abstract: A golf club head includes a resilient member extending from a sole of the club head to the crown. The resilient member has a convex, arcuate shape relative to a strike face of the club. The resilient member has a rest state prior to impact with a golf ball, in which the resilient member defines a first chord length, and a deflected state during impact with a golf ball, in which the resilient member defines a second chord length that is greater than the first chord length. The resilient member improves impact response of the strike face to allow strike face thickness to be reduced while maintaining durability of the golf club head.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 21, 2023Publication date: March 21, 2024Inventors: Clayson C. Spackman, Eric J. Morales, Joshua A. Degerness, Cory S. Bacon

Publication number: 20240082666Abstract: A golf club head includes a rear body having a crown member coupled to a sole member, and a front body coupled to the rear body to define a substantially hollow structure. The front body includes a strike face and a surrounding frame that extends rearward from a perimeter of the strike face. At least a portion of an outer wall of the club head comprises a thermoplastic composite having a plurality of lamina layers. The plurality of lamina layers include at least a fabric reinforced thermoplastic composite layer and a filled thermoplastic layer, and the fabric reinforced thermoplastic composite layer and the filled thermoplastic layer are directly bonded to each other without an intermediate adhesive.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 16, 2023Publication date: March 14, 2024Inventors: Eric J. Morales, Ryan M. Stokke, Martin R. Jertson, Clayson C. Spackman, Cory S. Bacon, Yujen Huang, Travis D. Milleman

Publication number: 20240003170Abstract: A latch assembly comprises an exterior housing, a door latch, a plunger, a resilient member, and an external lever pivotally mounted on an outer face of the exterior housing. The external lever comprises a first leg, a second leg disposed at an angle relative to the first leg, and a pivot mount disposed between the first leg and the second leg. The plunger is maintained in the latched position when the external lever is in a latched position by the resilient member, whereby an entry door cannot be unintentionally shifted from the closed position. The plunger is displaced from the latched position to the unlatched position when the external lever is rotated from the latched position to the unlatched position by the second leg bearing against the plunger, whereby the entry door is free to be shifted from the closed position to the open position.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 18, 2023Publication date: January 4, 2024Applicant: BAUER PRODUCTS ,INCInventor: BRUCE C. BACON

Patent number: 11377885Abstract: A latch assembly comprises an outside housing, a door latch, an external lever handle, a plunger, a resilient member, and a handle cam. The handle cam comprises a cam surface juxtaposed against and in sliding relation with a plunger cam surface. The plunger is maintained in the latched position when the external lever handle is in the retracted position by the resilient member, whereby an entry door cannot be unintentionally shifted from the closed position, and the plunger is displaced from the latched position to the unlatched position when the external lever handle is displaced from the retracted position to the extended position by the cam surface of the handle cam bearing against the plunger cam surface, whereby the entry door is free to be shifted from the closed position to the open position.Type: GrantFiled: April 12, 2018Date of Patent: July 5, 2022Assignee: BAUER PRODUCTS, INC.Inventor: Bruce C. Bacon
