  • Publication number: 20130298735
Abstract: A ratcheting wrench that includes a ratchet structure having an annular body, a ratchet body, a one-way clutch and a socket wheel. The ratchet body is received in the annular body of the ratchet structure and defines a socket wheel aperture. The one-way clutch couples the ratchet body to the ratchet structure and permits rotation of the ratchet body in the annular body about a first axis in a first rotational direction and inhibits rotation of the ratchet body in the annular body about the first axis in a second, opposite rotational direction. The socket wheel is received in the socket wheel aperture and coupled to the ratchet body for rotation about a second axis that is perpendicular to the first axis, the socket wheel having a plurality of tool members that are spaced circumferentially apart from one another about a first axis.

  • Patent number: 8573324
Abstract: A power tool has a mechanism for ejecting a battery pack which includes a receiving frame which defines a cavity to receive a battery pack. A receiving member is adjacent the cavity. The receiving member meshes with a member on the battery pack to hold the battery pack in the cavity. A biasing member is in the cavity adjacent the receiving member. The biasing member ejects the battery pack from the ejecting mechanism. A member retains the biasing member in the cavity. The member guides a portion of the battery pack meshing with the receiving member into contact with the biasing member such that when the battery pack is locked onto the frame, the biasing member is in a compressed condition and when the battery pack is an unlocked position, the biasing member ejects the battery pack from the frame.

  • Publication number: 20130277923
Abstract: A power tool having a tool portion, a chuck and a lock. The tool portion has a housing, a motor, and a spindle driven by the motor. The chuck has a body coupled to the spindle for rotation therewith, and a sleeve rotatably disposed about the body. The lock has a first lock structure pivotally coupled to the housing about a pivot axis, and a second lock structure. The first lock structure has a first locking feature. The second lock structure has a second locking feature and is coupled to the sleeve for rotation therewith. Pivoting the first lock structure into a first pivot position positions the first locking feature in a rotational path of the second locking feature. Engagement of the first and second locking features inhibits rotation of the sleeve so that rotation of the spindle will cause corresponding rotation of the body relative to the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 8360727
Abstract: A yoke and bearing fitting assembly for a multi-blade aircraft rotor is disclosed. The assembly has a yoke having arms extending generally radially from a central portion of the yoke, the arms each having opposing surfaces. An aperture is formed in each arm and extends between the surfaces. A bearing fitting has a body configured for insertion into the aperture of the yoke and has two rims protruding from a periphery of the body, the body also having a bearing mount adapted for mounting a pitch change bearing assembly to the yoke. Each rim abuts one of the surfaces of the associated yoke arm when the bearing fitting is installed within the aperture, so as to create clamping forces between the rims and the arm and the arm. The bearing fitting transmits forces from the pitch bearing assembly into the yoke.

  • Patent number: 8327766
Abstract: A timing element for an initiator is made from a reactive polymeric material such as, e.g., a glycidyl azide polymer. The reactive polymeric material may include pulverulent oxidizer additives, such as ammonium, perchlorate and/or ferric oxide. The oxidizer additives are used to increase the rate of reaction and the output spark of the polymer material. The timing element serves to delay the travel of an initiation signal between an input, such as a signal transmission input line, and an explosive output charge, for a predetermined period of time, usually about 5 to about 10,000 milliseconds, e.g., about 9 to about 9600 milliseconds.
