Abstract: A disposable absorbent hygiene product is provided, comprising an absorbent core disposed between a liquid pervious topsheet intended to face the wearer, and a backsheet intended to face away from the wearer, wherein said absorbent core comprises a super absorbent polymer composition that comprises a) super absorbent polymer particles including a cross-linked polymer of a water soluble ethylenically unsaturated monomer containing an acidic group, at least a part of said acidic groups being neutralized; and b) a particle size-controlled antibacterial agent that comprises a chelating agent containing EDTA or an alkali metal salt thereof; a mixture of an organic acid and a silicate-based salt; and a particle size control agent.

Abstract: A method to produce an absorbent article using a blank, includes the following steps: folding the side-edge portions of the side parts of either the rear portion or front portion in towards the inner cover sheet over supports placed on the side parts of this portion and extending along the full length of this portion, folding the blank about a transverse line in the crotch portion so that the end edges of the front portion and rear portion come to lie edge-to-edge and so that the side-edge portions of the folded-in portion overlap the folded-in side-edge portions of the second portion; and welding together the overlapping side-edge portions of the side parts within the area of the supports by way of ultrasonic or thermal welding.

An elongated elastic element is pre-stretched along the rear part of the leg edge of each leg opening. The front portion comprises an elastically extensible material and the elongated elastic element constricts the rear part of the leg edge, thereby stretching the elastic material along the front part of the leg edge. The side joins exhibit a curvature in a direction towards the rear portion that increases in a direction from the waist opening towards the leg opening.

The article has, on each side of the absorption body, a pocket for temporary storage of liquid, the extent of the pocket being limited by the longitudinal side edge of the absorption body, the transverse elastic system and the rear leg elastic system.
