    Abstract: The present invention provides an improved process for producing diesel boiling range fuel or fuel blending component from renewable feedstocks such as plant oils and greases. The improvement involved the addition of an organic polysulfide to the renewable feedstock before it enters the pre-reaction heating unit of the process resulting in reduced fouling in the pre-reaction heating unit. The invention also provides the use of such organic polysulfide in renewable feedstocks used in hydroprocessing equipment for reducing fouling in the pre-reaction heating units of such processes.
