  • Patent number: 11524613
Abstract: A method of controlling a seat cooling cycle in a vehicle seat includes determining whether a vehicle cooling system is operating. If the vehicle cooling system is operating, then executing a seat cooling cycle such that portions of an occupant-facing surface of the vehicle seat are urged outwardly to create high contact zones between the occupant and the portions of the vehicle seat that have been urged outwardly, and such that areas of reduced occupant contact are defined between adjacent ones of the portions of the occupant-facing surface that are urged outwardly, wherein the areas of reduced occupant contact define low pressure zones that facilitate the flow of air between the vehicle seat and the occupant within the low pressure zones.

  • Patent number: 11484935
Abstract: This technology relates to refractory coatings used in metal casting by the foundry industry. Refractory coatings are often used to coat foundry cores and molds for the purpose of improving the quality of castings formed in connection with the cores or molds, particularly at the surface of the casting. Whereas traditional coatings comprise water based solvents that require excessive drying times or HAPs that emit hazardous VOCs, preferred embodiments of the present invention comprise refractory coatings having VOC-exempt ester based solvents, such as DMC. Other preferred embodiments of the present invention comprise methods for reduction of VOC content in a foundry article.

  • Publication number: 20220095811
Abstract: A seat assembly with an adjustable head restraint assembly capable of being adjusted based on an approximate stature or spatial location of an occupant in the seat assembly. A seat assembly may include a sensor in the seat to detect if an occupant is present. The sensor may include a plurality of bladders and pressure sensors, a radar system, or a neuro-monitoring sensor. The sensor may send a signal to a controller indicating the presence of an occupant. The controller may approximate the size and/or spatial location of the occupant and send an adjustment signal to the head restraint adjustment mechanism to adjust the head restraint assembly to an in-use position. The controller may determine that an occupant is not present and send an adjustment signal to the head restraint adjustment mechanism to adjust the head restraint assembly to a non-use position.
