  • Patent number: 12006606
Abstract: A tufted article (e.g., an artificial turf panel) having a backing and a plurality of tufts extending through the backing. The plurality of tufts are distributed among a plurality of patterned regions. Each patterned region has at least one tuft of the plurality of tufts. The tufts of each patterned region differ from the tufts of at least one other patterned region of the tufted article in at least one of color, pile height, yarn type, or yarn density. At least one patterned region creates a longitudinal discontinuity in the color pattern of the tufted article. The tufted article does not have a seam. Complementary side edges of the tufted articles can be secured together to form at least a portion of the surface covering without the need for cutting or the use of inlay components.

  • Publication number: 20240125636
Abstract: Systems and methods for measuring flow velocity of a fluid mixture in a lateral section of an oil/gas/water well with a dual beam laser doppler velocimetry (LVD) based flow sensor are presented. According to one aspect, the flow velocity is measured by tracking movement of particles and/or features in the fluid mixture while traversing an interference pattern generated by the intersection of two separate coherent beams that are perpendicular to a direction of the flow. Flow velocity is derived based on a time it takes the particles to traverse consecutive fringes of the interference pattern as indicated by intensity peaks detected at the photodetector. The LDV-based flow sensor may be rotatable to measure flow velocities at different angular positions of a pipe in a lateral section of an oil well, rotation provided by rotation of an element of a mobile vessel to which the flow sensor is rigidly coupled.

  • Publication number: 20240117728
Abstract: The present embodiments disclose a system and method for generating a predictive model to detect leak in undersea pipes. The system includes an administrator processor and one or more pipe sections. The method proceeds with observing changes in pressure, generating a predictive model configured to determine if a leak has occurred, and closing one or more pipes responsible for the leak.

  • Patent number: 11950539
Abstract: An agricultural system including an agricultural baler including a rotary input shaft connectable by way of a baler driveline to a rotatable flywheel; a hydraulic pump for supplying the agricultural baler with hydraulic fluid, the rotatable flywheel being connectable to the hydraulic pump via the driveline. The baler is transferrable between a first state for driving the hydraulic pump by external drive power provided by a corresponding work vehicle, and a second state for driving the hydraulic pump by the rotatable flywheel. The agricultural system further includes a control unit that is configured to: receive input-power-data indicative of a drive power available for driving the hydraulic pump in the first state of the baler; and determine a control-signal for transferring the baler into the second state, if the input-power-data indicates that the available drive power is insufficient for driving the hydraulic pump.

  • Publication number: 20240052724
Abstract: Systems and methods for thermal management of subsea conduits such as jumpers provide the ability to alternate between cooling and heat retention of production fluids within the conduit as needed depending on the phase of operation. Adjustable insulation elements are provided on the conduits so that convective heat transfer between surrounding seawater and the conduit can be allowed or reduced. A control system can activate an alarm indicating the need to adjust the insulation depending on the temperature and/or flow rate of fluids in the conduit. Conventional conduits can be retrofitted by adding adjustable insulation elements to enable thermal management.

  • Publication number: 20240044435
Abstract: Disclosed are systems and methods for thermal management of subsea interconnecting conduit such as jumpers that provide cooling and heat retention of production fluids within the jumpers. In a jumper circuit, parallel sections of jumper are provided having differing amounts of heat transfer between surrounding seawater and production fluids flowing within. Valving is provided to control fluid flow between the parallel sections of jumper, thus controlling the amount of heat transfer between the surrounding seawater and the jumper circuit. A control system can be used to generate an alarm based on fluid temperature and/or fluid flow rate within the jumper circuit indicating the need to adjust the valving to manage the temperature of fluids within the jumper circuit. Changes may be needed particularly depending on the phase of production, e.g., early life, normal operation, shut down and late life operation.

  • Publication number: 20240041657
Abstract: Non-adhesive articles include an elastomeric layer, where the elastomeric layer has a plurality of cuts arrayed in a pattern. The cuts are gaps, but the gaps are not visible to the naked eye when the article is in an unstressed state, and in a stressed state, at least some of the cuts become gaps that are visible to the naked eye. The gaps are perforations in the elastomeric layer and are apertures through which one can view through the elastomeric layer. The perforations indicate the presence of stress in the article, and the elastomeric layer has a lower effective modulus of elasticity in at least one axis than an identical elastomeric layer without the plurality of cuts.

  • Patent number: 11857985
Abstract: An airpot beverage dispenser having a body with a beverage cavity, a lid with lower and upper lid portions, a bellows within the upper lid portion, an actuator for compressing the bellows to increase the pressure of trapped air in the bellows, a duckbill valve, a skirt valve extending fully around the duckbill valve, and a spout. The skirt valve is movable into sealing engagement with a lid lower wall to define an air flow path from the bellows to the beverage cavity, and when the pressure of the trapped air in the bellows is sufficiently increased, the duckbill valve opens and passes the trapped air to the beverage cavity to force beverage out the spout. When the spout is moved to a stored position and the dispenser is in a locked state, the skirt valve serves as a relief valve to prevent over pressure in the beverage cavity.
