  • Publication number: 20140257200
Abstract: Embodiments described herein include a safety system including a needle guard assembly, where the needle guard assembly can be configured for attachment to a needle retaining device having a proximal end, a distal end, where a needle can be fixedly coupled to the distal end. The needle guard assembly can include a first cylinder, where the first cylinder can be attached to the distal end of the needle retaining device. The needle guard assembly can include a second cylinder, where the second cylinder can be selectively movable relative to the first cylinder from a first position, to a second position wherein the needle is fully exposed, to a third position where the needle is fully covered.

  • Patent number: 8672883
Abstract: A fluid delivery device includes a cartridge and a syringe. The cartridge includes a housing and a stopper positioned within a fluid chamber defined by the housing. The syringe includes a needle, and an outer body and an inner core which cooperate to receive at least a portion of the housing. When the fluid delivery device is in a first configuration, at least a portion of the cartridge is positioned within the syringe and the stopper is connected to the inner core. In a second configuration, a lumen defined by the needle is in fluid communication with the fluid chamber. The inner core and stopper are movable distally relative to the outer body and needle as the fluid delivery device is transitioned from the first to the second configuration. In a third configuration, the cartridge and syringe cooperate to disable the fluid delivery device.

  • Publication number: 20130261591
Abstract: Disclosed are embodiments of a vial device and related systems that can include a cartridge that can have a proximal end and a distal end, where the cartridge can include a housing that defines a fluid chamber. Embodiments of the vial device can include a first stopper, where the first stopper can be positioned at about the proximal end of the cartridge, and a second stopper, where the second stopper can be movable relative to the cartridge. Embodiments of the vial device can include an outer housing, where the cartridge can be configured to seat within the outer housing.

  • Publication number: 20130180999
Abstract: Disclosed are cartridge filling systems and methods that can include providing a vial body defining a vial lumen, providing a floating stopper positioned within the vial lumen, providing an end cap, where the proximal end of the end cap can abut the distal end of the floating stopper such that the floating stopper is prevented from moving distally within the vial lumen, filling at least a portion of the vial lumen with a fluid, and removing the end cap from the vial body after filling at least a portion of the vial lumen with a fluid.
