Publication number: 20160314548Abstract: Various of the disclosed embodiments concern systems and methods for applying legal analytics. In some embodiments, a legal analytics platform retrieves legal data from an electronic database, analyzes some or all of the legal data, and identifies interesting patterns and results of statistical analyses. In order to permit searching of the legal data, metadata elements or tags can be generated for legal entities and legal events. In some embodiments, the legal analytics platform identifies timestamps in the legal data and performs time-based statistical analysis. Results of the statistical analyses can be presented to a user via a graphical user interface (GUI), which may also allow the user to interact with the legal analytics platform and search one or more databases of legal data.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 11, 2015Publication date: October 27, 2016Inventors: Gavin Carothers, Karl Harris, Brian C. Publication number: 20160235128Abstract: An innovative sleeping suit for infants, configured to provide warmth, a contained environment, and positive proprioceptive input, and thereby reduce neurological reflexive twitching or habitual waking patterns prevalent when infants are placed on their backs for sleeping and are not swaddled. The weighting in the suit is believed to reduce the neurological reflexive twitching and provides a swaddling effect to infants helping them to fall asleep and remain sleeping when on their backs. At least a portion of an anterior portion of the suit includes the weighting. The weighting may be accomplished by varying the thickness of the materials and/or quantity of layers of materials used on the anterior portion of the suit. The weighting may be distributed uniformly throughout the suit, the anterior portion of the suit, or can be strategically placed at proprioceptive target points along the anterior portion of the suit.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 22, 2016Publication date: August 18, 2016Inventors: Maureen A. Howard, Robert C. Howard

Publication number: 20160212054Abstract: In one example, a streaming media player may select at least one media stream from a plurality media streams based on network conditions. A communication interface may receive a chosen media stream having a chosen bitrate and an alternate media stream having an alternate bitrate on a communication network and configured to determine a bandwidth average for the communication network. An adaptive streaming selector may switch from the chosen media stream to the alternate media stream based in part on the bandwidth average. A media pipeline may render the chosen media stream into a chosen media presentation and the alternate media stream into an alternate media presentation. An output device may present the chosen media presentation and the alternate media presentation to a user.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 19, 2016Publication date: July 21, 2016Applicant: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Matthew C. Patent number: 9030610Abstract: High definition media content processing techniques are described in which enhanced media content rendering techniques may be performed to output high definition media content. In an implementation, luma keying may be provided to define clear pixels in a composite output using an optimum set of graphics processing instructions. In another implementation, techniques are described which may provide clear rectangles in a composite output of one or more video streams. Clear rectangles to appear in the composite output are configured by a media playback application. A texture is arrived at to represent a union of each of the clear rectangles and is applied to form the clear rectangles in the composite output. In another implementation, capture techniques are described in which an image to capture is resolved as strips to an intermediate texture and then from the texture to a capture buffer in system memory.Type: GrantFiled: March 31, 2014Date of Patent: May 12, 2015Assignee: Microsoft Technology Licensing, LLCInventors: Stephen Estrop, Matthew C.
