Abstract: Methods for the generation of electrochemical plasma activated aqueous chemotherapeutics (EPAAC) solutions are described. These solutions have been found to selectively reduce the proliferation of human pancreatic cancer cells, with no toxic effects for healthy cells.

Abstract: In an example embodiment, a method of controlling a three-phase alternating current (AC) voltage source includes determining an error between a direct current (DC) bus voltage command and a detected DC bus voltage, the detected DC bus voltage being a part of an outer feedback loop, obtaining one of a virtual conductance or virtual resistance, the one of the virtual conductance or the virtual resistance being a part of an inner feedback loop relative to the outer feedback loop, regulate an output DC bus voltage based on the error and the one of the virtual conductance or the virtual resistance and controlling the three-phase AC voltage source based on the regulation of the output DC bus voltage.

Abstract: A lighting assembly that provides integrated forward projecting light and side lighting to give a user a broader field of light. The assembly also incorporates daytime running lights to increase visibility during the day and night. The lighting assembly includes a cooling system suitable for dissipating the heat generated by light sources and electrical components of the assembly.

Abstract: Methods of testing a semiconductor, and semiconductor testing apparatus, are described. In an example, a method for testing a semiconductor can include applying light on the semiconductor to induce photonic degradation. The method can also include receiving a photoluminescence measurement induced from the applied light from the semiconductor and monitoring the photonic degradation of the semiconductor from the photoluminescence measurement.

Abstract: A multi-purpose tool includes a first handle, a second handle, and a laminated plier jaw assembly coupled to the first handle and the second handle. The laminated plier jaw assembly includes a first outer layer, a second outer layer, an inner layer, and a pin. The first outer layer defines a first aperture. The second outer layer defines a second aperture. The inner layer is positioned between and is coupled to the first outer layer and the second outer layer. The inner layer defines a slot having a narrow portion positioned between a first wide portion and a second wide portion. The pin extends at least partially through the first aperture, the second aperture, and the slot. The first outer layer, the second outer layer, and the inner layer cooperate to define a pair of jaws that rotate relative to one another about an axis of rotation.

Abstract: A pump sleeve for an integrated drive generator has a pump sleeve body extending between a first end and a second end. The first end is at a location adjacent a radially enlarged end plate. The body extends to the second end with a generally cylindrical body portion having an inner bore diameter defining a first distance. The body extends between the first and second ends for a second distance. A ratio of the first distance to the second distance is between 0.15 and 0.30. An integrated drive generator and a method are also disclosed.

Abstract: A lamination for use in an integrated drive generator is formed from a plurality of plates having a body including a pair of opposed cylindrical surfaces. Non-cylindrical ditches are defined circumferentially intermediate the pair of cylindrical surfaces. A plurality of passages are formed in an outer periphery of the cylindrical surfaces including relatively large holes extending through a slot to the outer periphery. Grooves are formed intermediate the relatively large holes.

Abstract: Device for remote testing, augmented reality or other visualization needs includes a frame configured to be situated on a person's head, a display assembly on the frame, and a combiner assembly arranged on the frame in a position at least partly in front of right and left eyes of the person. The combiner assembly allows simultaneous viewing by the person of an environment in front of the person and content on the display assembly. The combiner assembly includes an inwardmost layer that is reflective and reflects content of the display assembly to the person's eyes, an intermediate layer that controls light transmission through the combiner assembly, and an outwardmost layer that covers the second layer and provides notification of intrusion attempts into the second layer.

Abstract: Methods for providing gaming advice are provided. For example, regarding a blackjack game, one or more first player cards are identified for a first player and one or more second player cards are identified for a second player. The first and second player cards are displayed to the first player. A probability associated with a first one of the plurality of playing options is determined based at least on a set of predetermined statistical blackjack data, the one or more first player cards, and the one or more second player cards. It is then determined, based at least on the determined probability associated with the first playing option, whether to display a first indication corresponding with first advice regarding the first playing option, a second indication corresponding with second advice regarding the first playing option, or a third indication corresponding with third advice regarding the first playing option.

Abstract: A system for dispute data transfer in a distributed trading network includes a memory and a dispute manager. The memory stores information about a trading order associated with a client system. The dispute manager communicates a confirmation message to the client system, where the confirmation message provides an option to send a trading order dispute request that disputes processing of the trading order. The dispute manager receives a trading order dispute request generated in response to a selection of the option. The dispute manager obtains a decision that responds to the trading order dispute request and communicates the decision to the client system.

Abstract: A governor drive gear for use in an integrated drive generator has a gear body extending between a first end and a second end and having a disc extending radially outwardly. A boss extends from the disc toward the second end. There are outer gear teeth outwardly of an outer diameter of the disc. The outer gear teeth have a unique gear tooth profile with roll angles A, B, C, and D. An integrated drive generator and a method are also disclosed.

Abstract: A terminal block for use in an integrated drive generator has a body having an outer support surface and extending to an inner surface. There are four connection channels for supporting electric connections for each of three phases of power and a neutral. There are fingers formed between adjacent ones of each of the four connection channels, with the fingers extending away from the support surface in a direction away from the inner surface. An integrated drive generator and a method are also disclosed.

Abstract: Methods and compositions for the detection and quantification of nucleic acids are provided. In certain embodiments, methods involve the use of cleavable probes that comprise a ribonucleotide position that is susceptible to endoribonuclease (e.g., RNase H) cleavage in the presence of target nucleic acid molecules. Probes of the embodiments may also comprise non-natural nucleotide linked to a reporter and/or quenching moiety.

Abstract: A laser ablation system comprises a volume configured to contain a workpiece and a carriage configured to move within the volume relative to a workpiece. The carriage comprises a clamping system, a laser enclosure, and a laser ablation work head within the laser enclosure. The clamping system is configured to clamp the workpiece and seal against a portion of the workpiece.

Abstract: An accessory drive gear for use in the integrated drive generator includes a gear body extending between a first end and a second end and having a plurality of gear teeth at a radially outer surface adjacent the first end, and the gear teeth having a gear tooth profile, with roll angles A, B, C, and D, and the roll angle at A being between 17.0 and 18.5°, the roll angle at B being between 20.0 and 21.5°, the roll angle at C being between 29.5 and 31.0°, and the roll angle at D being between 32.5 and 34.0°. In addition, an integrated drive generator is disclosed as is a method of replacing an accessory drive gear in an integrated drive generator.

Abstract: Methods of fabricating solar cell emitter regions with differentiated P-type and N-type regions architectures, and resulting solar cells, are described. In an example, a solar cell can include a substrate having a light-receiving surface and a back surface. A first doped region of a first conductivity type, wherein the first doped region is disposed in a first portion of the back surface. A first thin dielectric layer disposed over the back surface of the substrate, where a portion of the first thin dielectric layer is disposed over the first doped region of the first conductivity type. A first semiconductor layer disposed over the first thin dielectric layer. A second doped region of a second conductivity type in the first semiconductor layer, where the second doped region is disposed over a second portion of the back surface. A first conductive contact disposed over the first doped region and a second conductive contact disposed over the second doped region.

Abstract: Transaction verification mechanisms are provided that receive transaction information, from a computing device at a transaction location, including user device information specifying one or more user device identifiers associated with a user initiating a transaction, vendor device information specifying a plurality of vendor device identifiers in a near field area associated with the computing device, and account information for an account being used to perform the transaction. A user device verification is performed on the one or more user device identifiers and a vendor device verification of the plurality of vendor device identifiers is performed to verify the transaction location as being an authorized vendor location. A determination whether to approve/deny completion of the transaction at the computing device is performed based on results of the user device verification and the vendor device verification and an output is sent to the computing device based on the determination.

Abstract: A method and system is provided for displaying and updating electronic information on a display device. In an exemplary aspect, the method includes storing first and second digital information relating to first and second products, respectively, and transmitting this information to a display device to be displayed thereon by user interface pages navigable by a user. Moreover, the method includes determining a current page that is being displayed on the display device and determining whether either the first digital information or the second digital information product is being displayed on the current page. When the current page is displaying the first digital information, the method transmits unscheduled updates of the first digital information, such that the current page dynamically displays updated first digital information. Alternatively, when the current page is not displaying the second digital information, the method transmits scheduled updates of the second digital information.

Abstract: Compositions and methods related to new wet strength resins are provided. By using functionally-symmetrical cross-linkers and mono-functional modifiers, and separating the steps of reacting a prepolymer with the cross-linkers from the reaction of intermediate cross-linked prepolymer with epichlorohydrin, new wet strength resin products are provided having improved properties.
