    Abstract: A speed sensor for sensing the speed and direction of a hydrostatic motor or pump measures the speed, monitors an operator input, processes this information and generates a high power output to drive a solenoid valve or electrical displacement control. The sensor is housed in a single package mounted directly on the hydrostatic motor or pump. The function of the sensor can be easily modified with software changes.
