  • Patent number: 4107798
Abstract: A self-contained toilet comprising a collecting tank, means for rinsing the interior of the collecting tank including a rinsing manifold, a rinsing conduit, and a check valve operatively connecting the rinsing manifold and rinsing conduit, and means for preventing liquid contained within the rinsing manifold from being forced through the check valve by a pressure differential thereacross including a second check valve, and check valve conduit means communicating at one end with one end of the second check valve and communicating at the other end with the rinsing means at a location proximate the connection of the rinsing manifold and the first check valve.

  • Patent number: 4092248
Abstract: A pump-filter assembly for a recirculating toilet comprising, an axial flow pump including a support tube and a drive shaft supported therein, means for rotating the drive shaft in first and second opposite directions, a first impeller secured to the drive shaft, the impeller being selectively configured to pump when the drive shaft is rotated in the first direction and to forcefully draw in air when the drive shaft is rotated in the second direction, the drive shaft extending below the support tube, a second impeller supported on the drive shaft at a location below the support tube for free-wheeling rotation thereon, a ratchet mechanism secured to the portion of the drive shaft extending below the support tube, and a pawl mechanism secured to the second impeller means for selective driving engagement with the ratchet mechanism when the drive shaft is driven in the opposite second direction, and filter means surrounding the axial flow pump.

  • Patent number: 4072778
Abstract: A spacer unit, a discharging gun and a method of retaining a spacing to avoid loss of elastomeric seal between two surfaces are described. The system is particularly useful in the glazing trade for sealing large plate glass panes into aluminum frames. Each unit comprises a plurality of blocks skeletally inter-connected by webs. The cross-sectional area of the blocks and webs presented to a compressive force is still small relative to the cross-sectional area lying within the outer periphery of the unit.

  • Patent number: 4040524
Abstract: A pipe handling device for transporting pipe, drill collars, or like tubular members between the elevated drilling floor of a well derrick and a lower storage area has a pair of support cables extending between the rig floor and the storage area. A pipe trolley means rides the support cables and is movable along the support cables by a third cable to transport pipe from the storage area to the rig or to lay pipe down from the rig to storage. A cable draw works, typically in the vicinity of the storage area, anchors one end of the support cables and is provided with a take-up mechanism for the support cables to enable them to be slackened to enable a pipe to be loaded into or unloaded from the pipe trolley means in the storage area and thence tensioned to facilitate the travel of the trolley to the elevated rig floor.

  • Patent number: 3933272
Abstract: This invention is a method and apparatus for dispensing a predetermined weight of liquid. The apparatus comprises a calibrated vessel having an elongated tubular section in open communication with the top of the vessel, means to fill the vessel to a level in the elongated tubular section, a displacement means which provides an area of reduced cross section at the liquid level in the tubular section, means to monitor the temperature of the liquid, means to adjust the position of the displacement means in response to temperature changes of the liquid and means to dispense the liquid. The apparatus can dispense a predetermined weight of liquid over a broad temperature range. The method comprises the steps necessary to dispense the predetermined weight of liquid.
